In today's fast-paced digital world, it's essential to create mobile and web apps that not only function flawlessly but also provide an exceptional user experience. As users become increasingly discerning, it's crucial to design apps that are intuitive, easy to use, and visually appealing.
We asked 10 Criya Experts for their no. 1 tip for building user-friendly mobile and web apps ↓
Become The First User
Become the first user of the app you are building. Think as an end user to paint the vision, goals, features and customer journeys in the app. User centric ideation and design goes a long way in building intuitive and user-friendly apps
Iterate. Iterate. Iterate.
Always map out the Job to Be Done first. Job Maps will clearly show the flow and friction before jumping into the solution space. Iterate, Iterate, Iterate.?
Emotional Design
Emotional design: Human emotions play a significant role in decision-making and user engagement. Use storytelling elements and design principles that evoke specific emotional responses, like joy, trust, or curiosity, to create a memorable and engaging user experience.
Leverage Data-driven Insights
My no. 1 tip for building a user-friendly mobile or web app is to leverage data-driven insights and behavioral economics principles to create a tailored, intuitive user experience. By analyzing user interactions, understanding target audience behavior, and iterating through A/B testing, you can optimize the app's design and functionality for seamless engagement and higher conversion rates.
Keep it Simple
My top tip is to build a product that either solves the user problem in a simplistic way or simplifies the existing solution. When not solving a problem, delight the user with a solution that they never knew existed/needed to make their everyday life easier.
Clear Calls to Action
My no. 1 tip to build a user-friendly mobile or web app is to focus on creating a clear flow and call to action before you start building it. Simplicity and clarity in design ensure that users can easily understand the app's purpose and how to navigate it

Shape, Design, and Function
My personal trick is to imagine that I am building a physical object. Thinking of your product as a physical thing, ask yourself: does it look like a Soviet submarine control panel OR like a mid-century modern chair? A food processor from the 80s OR a regular toothbrush? A good product is like a chair or a toothbrush: its shape (design) immediately tells you what it's for.
Rapid Prototyping
Rapid prototyping is the way to go! This will help you test the hypothesis quickly and pivot as needed, and thus build a sound customer experience.
Build a Lovable Experience
User-friendly is often tied to frictionless and intuitive UI/UX. However, my #1 tip is to raise the bar and think of how you can build a lovable experience. Lovable is key to powering the growth flywheel.
Fast Feedback
Get your product out as soon as possible so you can build it based on customer feedback. Don't let “Perfect” be the enemy of “Good”.
