10 Easy Ways to Increase Productivity at Work

Because there are only so many hours in a day, making the most of them is essential. You can either put in more hours or work smarter to boost your production. I’m not sure about you, but I prefer the second option.

It isn’t rocket science to be more productive at work, but it necessitates being more careful about managing your time. This article will lead you through ten simple yet effective ways to boost your workplace productivity.

№1 — Take More?Breaks

Oddly enough, if you take more breaks during the workday, you can become more productive when you do work. Try taking a five-minute break every hour. This small change will help you get more done during the day.

№2 — Create Deadlines for Your?Day

One thing that helps us finish anything is creating a deadline. When you have work that may not need to get done right away, but you want it done to get it off your desk, create a deadline. Better yet, share that deadline with some so that you have accountability to get it done too.

№3 — Avoid Meetings Like the?Plague

Most companies have more meetings than they need. If you can, avoid meetings as often as possible. They take time out of your day, and most meetings only have one or two important things that apply to you. You can get that information from someone who went instead of burning time trying to find it.

№4 — Quit Multitasking

First, multitasking is a lie. You can’t do two things at once. What you are doing is going between many things in a short amount of time. ‘Multitasking’ actually makes you more tired and reduces your productivity. Do one thing at a time and get it done.

№5 — Use the 2-Minute?Rule

If you can do something in 2-minutes, then do it if you can’t schedule it or set it aside until you can spend significant time working on it. This little Rule will help you save time and get more done quickly. It will also relieve a lot of your stress.

№6 — Batch?Tasks

Batching tasks is one of my favorites. Task batching means you work on a bunch of the same tasks simultaneously. Make all your phone calls at once. Send all your emails at once. You get the idea. Doing this will help your brain work through the tasks more quickly to get more done.

№7 — Make Your Workspace Enjoyable

When I worked in a cubicle, I kept posters, a few plants, and some nicknacks in my cube that brought a little joy to my life. In my home office, I have a wall of pictures and things that remind me of happy times. Creating a cheerful and encouraging space will help motivate you when work feels like it drags on.

№8 — Remove Distractions

Turn off notifications. Set your phone across the room. Close the door to your office. Close your internet browser. Turn off your company messaging app. Turn off things that interrupt your workflow for a set time and get deep work done.

№9 — Delegate Things that don’t Need Your Attention

If you can, delegate as much as possible. If you work for yourself, get a virtual assistant. If you work in an office setting, don’t do work that isn’t yours to do. If you can move it out, move it out, you will thank me later.

№10 — Reduce Your Task?List

You might have many things to do for your job. But focus on three to five essential things. If you can’t do that, break your day into two halves and focus on three to five in the morning and three to five in the afternoon. This will give you a sense of accomplishment which will keep you motivated.

Final Thoughts on Productivity at Work

It is critical to be as consistent as possible while using tactics to boost your work productivity. Allow yourself to grow and gain new skills, and you can be sure that your productivity will improve as well.

Also, I want to encourage you only to try to do one or two of these at a time. Overloading yourself with new productivity tricks will burn you out and reduce your chances of getting more done.
