#10 Deakin University, Australia - Me in a Minute (2016)
Between 2016 and 1018 æ¾³å¤§åˆ©äºšè¿ªè‚¯å¤§å¦ showcased their innovative 'Me in a Minute' video strategy to enable their students and graduates to produce 60 second CV films for sharing with the world. For the students and graduates they could push the films out to employers, whilst the University had the perfect opportunity to publish a video gallery that worked as the ultimate course shop window for prospective students. This was the ultimate win-win.
Deakin and its students co-created 212 films in this period. That's an amazing number. Crucial to the project's success was how Deakin gave students the online toolkit and guide so they could produce their own content. Have a look at this film in which two of Deakin's video producers explain exactly how it all worked.
And, here's an example of the output, courtesy of Christie Lay, a BA Media Communication & Photography student who stitched together her own story (and content pieces) of course work, cheerleading, umpiring, peer mentorship and an internship creating social media content for the Mangrove Footy Show - all articulated brilliantly in a minute! And with an invitation to connect on LinkedIn at the end. Christie's video CV racked up over 3,000 views on YouTube. You can see the whole playlist here.

When we presented at conferences back in 2016-2018, 'Me in a Minute' was one of the most popular examples we shared. Everyone else wanted to do it. But who really did? And why on earth not?! Looking back, whilst ahead of the game at the start, the tech is now out of date. We actually have much easier ways of doing this now. Just think how easy a 60 second TikTok, YouTube Short or Reels CV could be. The trick will be to aim for the mutual benefit and sharing. So why not go for it now?
