Itinerary

Day 1 : Nairobi - Kenya

On the first day, we will pick you from Nairobi International Airport and take you to your first overnight hotel in this bustling East African city.

The first night is spent in Nairobi, before departing the next morning on the 10-day Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Mombasa Beach Tour.

Day 2 : Maasai Mara Game Reserve - Kenya

We leave Nairobi in the morning and travel southwest to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Our journey to Masai Mara takes us through Kenya's scenic Great Rift Valley. We stop along the way to take in the breathtaking scenery before climbing the western side of the Rift Valley. Then we cross the Loita Plains into Maasai territory, passing Maasai warriors dressed in bright red robes tending their livestock along the road.

We keep an eye out for wildlife as we make our way to our overnight lodge in a private conservancy near Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch.

After lunch, we go on an afternoon game drive in this beautiful Kenyan game park. We explore Masai Mara in search of the area's abundant wildlife, which includes Africa's Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino. We have dinner and relax in nature before returning to the tented camp near Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp, which is located on the banks of a river in the conservancy, is frequently visited by wildlife.

Day 3 :Maasai Mara Game Drives - Kenya

The Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya's premier game reserve, will be visited for the next two days of game viewing.

Our morning and afternoon game drives take us in search of Africa's Big Five as well as the diverse wildlife that inhabits this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers spectacular orange-tinged sunsets that make for stunning photographs.

The Mara Game Reserve in southwest Kenya covers 1510km2 of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodlands, following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers. One look is enough to understand its allure; it is the quintessential open African savannah, teeming with wildlife.

There is plenty of wildlife in the vast Masai Mara Park, including Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, and wildebeests. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos are also plentiful. Lions are also frequently seen either basking after a large meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are more difficult to see, but they are fairly common.

The annual wildebeest exodus, known as the Great Migration, occurs in July and August, when millions of these grazers migrate north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before returning south in October. The Great Migration of hooved animals attracts Africa's predators, including lions, hyenas, and cheetahs.

Hot-air balloon rides are an incredible way to see the Savannah plains teeming with wildlife. These Masai Mara balloon trips are available at an additional cost.

Day 5 : Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park - Kenya

The fifth day begins with an early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Our final game drive in the Mara takes us in search of any wildlife that has eluded us thus far. After that, we return to the tented lodge for breakfast before continuing on our journey through Kenya.

We drive north from the Masai Mara Reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at our guest house. After lunch, we go on an afternoon game viewing drive in Lake Nakuru Park, looking for the park's diverse wildlife and numerous birds. With over 400 bird species, this Kenyan game park has maintained its reputation as an ornithologist's paradise. The Great White Pelican, African Spoonbill, Yellow-billed Stork, Lesser and Greater Flamingos, and Long-crested Eagle are among the bird species.

Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya is a vital wildlife sanctuary for some of Africa's most endangered species, including black and white rhinos and Rothschild giraffes. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo, leopard, and baboons can also be found in the game reserve, which we keep an eye out for on our game drive.

We eat and sleep in en-suite rooms at a comfortable lodge near Lake Nakuru. The lodge has a bar and restaurant, as well as free WiFi and in-room tea and coffee making facilities, DSTV, complimentary bottled water, and toiletries.

Day 6 : Lake Nakuru to Mombasa - Kenya

Before breakfast, go on an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Following breakfast at the lodge, we return to Nairobi and fly to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. We get to the airport around 14:00 and board a flight to Mombasa (extra cost).

We meet you at Mombasa International Airport and transfer you to a beach hotel for the next leg of our Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Mombasa Beach Tour.

Day 7 :Mombasa - Kenya

We spend the next three days at a beach resort near Mombasa, on the East African coast, enjoying the sun and the warm Indian Ocean. Mombasa is Kenya's second largest city and home to the largest port on the East African coast.

Relax on the sandy beaches and swim in the sea after our action-packed game viewing in Kenya's best wildlife areas. In and around Mombasa, a chaotic melting pot of Indian, Arabic, and African influences, you can also enjoy optional (extra cost) activities and water sports.
