There are a number of excellent messages on preparation in Dave's video offering here. Net, net ... a buyer should "get ready" and "be ready" to match their skills and experience with the business opportunity they are seeking. Narrow searches are a benefit to all involved and result in a higher probability of buying and operating success! One thing that often helps the interactions with sellers ... is to put yourself, as the buyer, in their shoes. Seek to understand what is driving their current decisions and how they were effective in managing the ups and downs in their business ... which you now want to own.
