10 books that changed my mind

I'm an avid reader and listener of audiobooks; in a good month, I can get through around 4 - 5 books. It would be more, but you know - family, eating, sleep, etc. - damn it.

Anyway, alongside my thrillers, I love nothing more than a book that activates my grey matter and positively changes the way I think.

So, without further ado - here are my top 10 personal favs for business and for life. You can also buy most of these to listen to on Audible - if, like me, you prefer to listen.

10. Manifest and Manifest Dive Deeper by Roxi Nafosi

Ever feel like the universe isn't quite on your side? Roxi Nafosi’s "Manifest" and her second book ''Dive Deeper'' are here to change that. Despite its mystical title, this book is all about practical advice for mastering your mindset and making the most of life. It's surprisingly down-to-earth and might just be the guide you need.

9. The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks

Imagine standing on the edge of a cliff, looking out at all your potential. Scary, right? Gay Hendricks is like a supportive friend, urging you to take that leap. "The Big Leap" helps you push past self-imposed limits and reach for your dreams. It’s like a motivational chat that boosts your confidence.

8. Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers

Remember the '90s? Flannel shirts, mixtapes, and my lovely mum handing me this book. Susan Jeffers' classic, "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway," is like a comforting hug from a wise friend. She teaches us that courage isn't about being fearless but about handling fear with grace. A timeless reminder that bravery is in the doing, not in the absence of fear.

7. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

If you're tired of the constant pressure to stay positive, Mark Manson’s "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" is a refreshing change. Mark's straightforward approach to living a meaningful life is both honest and liberating. He helps you focus on what truly matters and let go of the rest.

6. What I Know for Sure by Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey’s "What I Know for Sure" is like a beautifully wrapped gift of wisdom. Originally written for her column in O Magazine, each page offers insights that feel personal and heartfelt. Oprah’s reflections are warm and relatable, making this the perfect book for a little nightly inspiration.

5. Key Person of Influence by Daniel Priestley

Daniel Priestley’s "Key Person of Influence" is essential for any budding entrepreneur. It’s a guide to standing out in your field, increasing your influence, and boosting your success. Like having a mentor in book form, Daniel offers practical steps to becoming a key player in your industry.

4. Daring Greatly by Brené Brown

Brené Brown's "Daring Greatly" dives deep into the power of vulnerability. If you've ever thought that showing your soft side is a weakness, think again. Brené reassures us that vulnerability is actually a strength. Her insights are both enlightening and empowering, encouraging us to embrace our true selves.

3. The Power of Moments by Chip and Dan Heath

Have you ever wondered why some moments stick with us forever? Chip and Dan Heath’s "The Power of Moments" explores this, revealing how brief experiences can have a lasting impact. The Heath brothers provide strategies to create and recognise these defining moments, making memories that matter.

2. Tiny Noticeable Things by Andy Bounds

Andy Bounds' "Tiny Noticeable Things" is all about the small gestures that make a big difference. This book celebrates little acts of kindness and their profound impact, encouraging us to pay more attention to these subtle interactions that can brighten someone’s day.

1. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma

Robin Sharma’s "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" is an inspiring tale about living a life of passion, peace, and purpose. It's a gentle reminder that true fulfillment comes from living authentically and pursuing our dreams. This story will stir your spirit and inspire you to live a more meaningful life.

And - if you can't find the time for all of them - my absolute fav of all time is "Think Like a Monk" by Jay Shetty

If there’s one book you pick up from this list, let it be Jay Shetty's "Think Like a Monk." It’s a treasure trove of wisdom and practical advice for living a balanced, meaningful life. Jay’s engaging writing style and relatable anecdotes make it a delightful read that stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page.

So, there you have it - 10 plus 1 books that I love and live by. Each offers a unique perspective, from rethinking success to embracing the full spectrum of emotions.
