You made it!

The first month of the year (January) that the majority deems as the hardest, is finally behind you. It’s still a new season. The year is still young. Thoughtfully, set time to reflect, reboot, refocus, and review self.

If you want growth, it's essential to check what has and hasn't worked. You still have time to re-strategize and re-evaluate.

Why Should You Do the Review?

There are benefits to it. Let's look at them:

  • Discover more concerning your strengths & weaknesses. It is important to know the role your strengths played in meeting your goals last year and how to improve your weaknesses this year.
  • Track down your wins for the year and celebrate them - We hardly recognize small wins. Celebrate!?This makes you appreciate all your hard work. It is important to keep tabs on your win. To make it traceable and trackable, you can get a journal where you document your journey, or get sticky notes and a Jar that you can label “My wins Jar”. Whenever you achieve something, you note it down and drop it in your win jar. After every 3 months, open your jar and celebrate the wins!
  • Let go of what didn't work - Time is of the essence. Concentrate on what matters. Don’t dwell on past mistakes and failures, pick up the pieces, learn from them and move.
  • Find balance in the different spheres of your life - For contentment, every life sphere needs attention. They are multi-functional. If you neglect one, the others will suffer. Life encompasses different facets namely; - Spiritual and Personal Growth, Physical & Mental Health, Physical environment, Career, Finance, Fun, Recreation also Family, and Friends.
  • Set realistic goals for the coming year - Goals need to be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-Bound) The brings laser focus on the goals you need to set. They also need to be followed up with actions. The actions can be broken down into small attainable steps. Micro goals lead to Macro winning.
