Are we truly in control of our careers?
We get to the end of the year and, as usual, we all stop for a while to think about our personal and professional lives, about our victories, defeats and learning.
2020 was a surreal year, and we really hope that 2021 will be a year of great change and that we can evolve and grow. In professional terms, we know that our careers will certainly be impacted in one way or another.
The big question will always be: - Are we on the right path?
In a 20-year career in HR, accompanying professionals from different levels and different segments, I could see that the professionals who stand out the most and evolve are those who take the initiative, plan and literally run after their goals.
These professionals always reflect the following principles:
a) Where do you want to go?
b) How can they get there?
c) Where are they currently?
d) What are my strongholds that will help me get there?
e) What should I learn, improve?
f) What are the differentials of those who got there?
According to the CCI (Career Coaching Institute):
"The coaching industry started in 1989, when the late Thomas Leonard founded his coaching company. It has become a worldwide phenomenon, with most companies (60 percent at the last count) offering coaching or similar intervention to their employees.
The approximate annual worldwide revenue produced by coaching is $ 1.5 billion (USD).
Companies in which employees become "engaged" - that is, they become fully involved and fit well with their work - experience increased sales, customer loyalty and profits
Companies offering training alone experience a 22.4 percent increase in productivity, but when combined with training it rises to 88 percent
The coaching provided to executives in large corporations offers a return on investment of at least 5.7 times the cost of coaching."
But if this investment and return scenario is fantastic worldwide, why in Brazil does it seem that there are more negative than positive beliefs on this topic?
Thinking about it, I decided to list here 10 advantages and gains of having a Career Coach, and I hope it will help you to understand and more than anything to understand that this investment helps you to leverage your career since the choice of profession!

This level of maturity was connected with his goal of having more and more knowledge and being able to add value wherever he could be professionally, and it was fundamental for him to teach at a high level.
