10 battles for top business owners
Ah, the life of an entrepreneur! Filled with endless opportunities, exciting challenges, and of course, a long list of things that make you want to pull your hair out. As someone who has observed and interacted with many entrepreneurs, I can confidently say that there are certain tasks that they absolutely hate. So, without further ado, here are the top 10 things that entrepreneurs hate to do (and some lighthearted humor to make it more bearable).
The movie with Heath Ledger called “10 things I hate about you” was filmed at a high school I would have gone to in Tacoma so on that 10 things theme here are 10 things I MOSTLY hate about being a business owner.
1. Administrative work - Nothing screams excitement like organizing files, filling out paperwork, and dealing with bureaucracy. Entrepreneurs would rather be out there conquering the world than sitting behind a desk, staring at spreadsheets.
2. Networking events - While some entrepreneurs thrive in social situations, others cringe at the thought of making small talk with strangers. It's not that they're not friendly, it's just that they have better things to do, like running their business. (I hate it so much I wrote True Gravity you can buy here https://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B01LSUJ6AU )
3. Dealing with difficult customers - It's hard enough to keep your own employees in line, let alone dealing with customers who seem to have a knack for causing trouble. Entrepreneurs would rather spend their time creating amazing products than appeasing unhappy customers. (We all have that one..)
4. Accounting - Numbers, numbers, numbers. Entrepreneurs are creative, big-picture thinkers, and numbers just seem to suck the life out of them. Unless they have a passion for spreadsheets and calculators, accounting is not their cup of tea.
5. Social media management - Sure, social media is a powerful marketing tool, but keeping up with the latest trends and creating engaging content can be a full-time job in itself. Entrepreneurs would rather be working on their product than worrying about likes and followers.

6. Cold calling - Imagine picking up the phone and calling a stranger to sell them something. Sounds like a nightmare, right? Entrepreneurs hate cold calling, but they know that sometimes it's necessary to get their foot in the door. (Guess what I wrote a book for this: The Assisted Purchase drop me an email for your copy for £10 plus postage.)
7. Updating their website - In today's digital age, a website is a must-have for any business. However, constantly updating and maintaining it can be a pain. Entrepreneurs would rather be focusing on new features and improving their product than updating their website's "About Us" section.
8. Recruiting - Finding the right people to join your team is crucial, but it's also time-consuming and stressful. Entrepreneurs would rather be building their company than sifting through resumes and conducting interviews.
9. Meetings - Meetings, meetings, and more meetings. Entrepreneurs have a lot on their plate, and meetings can often feel like a waste of time. Unless it's a meeting with investors or potential clients, entrepreneurs would rather be doing something else.
10.?Filling out surveys - You know those surveys that ask you to rate your experience or provide feedback? Entrepreneurs hate them just as much as you do. They know that feedback is important, but filling out surveys can feel like a chore.
So, there you have it, folks. The top 10 things that entrepreneurs hate to do. While these tasks may not be enjoyable, they are necessary for the success of any business. So, the next time you're feeling frustrated with administrative work, accounting, or cold calling, just remember that you're not alone. And who knows, maybe one day you'll look back and laugh at how much you used to hate those things.
