I recently gave a mini talk of all mini-talks in 5 minutes at a Networking Meeting(!)
Here I share my notes which are some essential tips for Social Media; they form a useful starting point, especially if you are new to working online.
(NB If you are running ads to your business you need to do less of the organic growth that I talk about here )
The focus here on LinkedIn and Facebook, but apply as appropriate to the platform(s) of your choice!
1. If someone comes to your profile do they know what you do? (by looking at your posts, introduction, about section etc…) Most times we are not clear!
NB: VITAL No ads, No labels, No prices, No company names - you will be googled!
2. Your everyday action:
10-minute x twice a day on your profile
Pre-work: connect with 5 friends - visit, comment, genuine interaction (up to 5 minutes) Follow 5- 10 people building up more each day.
Visit groups you are involved with, car maintenance groups, hobby groups, pet lovers, running….not necessarily connected with business….The aim is to get to know people, and they get to know you. Send friend requests with a message!
Start with no more than 5 a day build up to more Post on your profile ( once a day is enough, or 3 times a week - for example )
3. Be consistent, this is a strategy! It’s business ??
4. Content - be consistent. Re-purpose- it’s on FB so tweak a bit and use for LinkedIn, for example. Be aware of the calibration of each platform, tone and approach.
5. Take pictures - snaps of everything - why?
6. Do Linkedin Stories from your phone, or FB stories from your profile, and your page actually! This depends on your platform.
Start to use them….play around with the story feature - it raises the visibility and is non-intrusive
AND you can direct people to your product eg…picture of you making your shake /or picture of your shake …."want to know more/the shake details message me”- & it comes straight to you in messenger! Perfect.
7.Be authentic
Don’t worry about being perfect
8. Absolutely outsource as soon as you can - 100% the professional photos - I still use the ones I did 4 years ago - speaks to brand ( we don’t get older!!) and good quality
9. Learn New skills - copywriting is so overlooked - it is THE most important.
Learn the skills, and outsource the ‘big’ things
10. ***Where we need to be is ON VIDEO*** - it is the way many platforms are moving….you heard it from me!
BONUS And boom boom.....the new platform….. www.MeWe.com.
The notes reflect a 5-minute time slot! And there is a limit to the information and advice, of course. This was some of the 'what to do' if you would like to know more about how...
So if you would like to know more, ask questions and follow up I do invite you to join my Facebook group. No charge.
And of course, there is always the 1:1 option, group coaching and stand-alone courses for your needs. Do contact me to ask for more details and we can see if we are a fit to work together.
