Every day, send out 10 connection requests to people in the industries, locations, and companies that interest you. This consistent effort is key. By strategically targeting your requests, you'll build a network where you need it.

A few things to keep in mind -?

  • Diversify your network: Don’t limit your connections to a single job or company. You want to cast a wide net to build a diverse network that gives you access to people and opportunities you might not have considered.
  • Personalize as needed: You don’t have to write a lengthy personalized message for every connection request. However, a thoughtful note goes a long way for those you truly want to connect with.
  • Find a balance: If you send too many connection requests in a short period of time, you could get locked out of your account . If you don’t send enough, you’ll miss out on building relationships with people before you need them.
