1 Year After Quitting My Job

1 Year After Quitting My Job

It’s been 1 year since I left my former employer.?I didn’t leave because of my boss, in fact, I loved him.?I didn’t leave because of my teammates.?I loved them all, even the ones that didn’t love me back, and especially the brothers and sisters I fought with during the early days.?I didn’t leave because of my compensation package.?In fact, for many reasons, I should have stayed at my former employer.?However, I left to embark on a very challenging, and exciting journey which would ultimately fulfill my desire to build something special!

As I look back on the last year, it has been full of fun, excitement, and plenty of rewarding work.?I knew what I was embarking on would not be easy, however, I had no idea what challenges were ahead.?Even one year later, although clearer, the path is still being created one day at a time.?It’s what I can imagine it was like for Lewis and Clark or Davy Crocket as they carved new trails into America to create the future, which would eventually become today.

Over the last year, we have created the Phaxis Family.?We have built an executive leadership team comprised of the industry’s best and brightest executives from varying backgrounds of success.?We have hired and promoted leaders in sales and recruitment.?We have created a Center of Recruitment Excellence with verticalized delivery and account specialized delivery teams.?We have grown our staff by more than 50%, and we are on target to grow the company by over 20% in the first year of our restructuring.

Although not everything has gone to plan, the best decision I have made was to step out of my comfort zone and start on this journey called Phaxis.?As I look back, it reminds me of playing football in college and in the NFL.?Although it is uncomfortable to run until you blackout, lift weights until your muscles fail, train until the field lights go out, and study film until your eyes see double.?At the end of the day when you look back on what you’ve built as a team, and you look ahead to what you are making as a team, there is no greater feeling in the world.?Just like a sports team, many will want to join, few will be allowed, and many of them will not make the cut, however, at the end of the day, we are a family.?A Phaxis Family!
