1 week under our belts!
Technically we're 2 weeks in (10 days!), but week 0 was the initial idea, the call for a team, and laying the groundwork for the project to kick off. So I'm still proclaiming this is really week 1. And omigoodness, it's hard to believe it's only been one full week!
Here's our little moment of celebration for everything we've accomplished in the last week:
- Platform identified
- Paid staff selected
- Volunteers identified (we still need more! You can still get in on this!)
- Kick-off meeting to launch the project and review roles
- 2nd kick-off meeting with volunteers to continue the momentum
- Identified some areas that we missed in the staffing of the event
- Created the full project plan and locked in how we'll use all the collaboration tools to execute the event
- Brainstormed some incredible out-of-the-box ideas for content and conversation and the execution of those
- Identified our mission, vision, goals, and metrics
- Agreed our brand look and feel
- Launched the registration page
- Reached out to some partners for in kind services
- Confirmed a few on demand content sessions
Big TO DOs for next week:
- Ensure content is differentiated from other events before us
- Call for locations for anyone who wants to host a 1-hour 8-to-10-person gathering locally. Should be over coffee, lunch, or happy hour. Must be at a venue where safety protocols are being followed. Document the protocols and the gathering via pictures (and optionally video) on social media the day of the event. Next week we'll launch the application process for those locations (can be global!!).
- Launch branded assets (revamp of reg site, social media frames, shareable content asset library, content library for sharing by the team)
- Document volunteer roles and identify gaps we need to fill
- Lock in content for tracks by August 17th (want to be part of this? let us know!)
- Begin promotions to drive registrations
- Begin partner outreach for supporting experiences
- Announce the new OMG idea that Nicole and I just came up with (hold on to your butts!)... This event is no longer 10am to 5pm... now its a full 24 hours! Content for every time zone AND in local languages! OMG! An industry first ever (maybe, we think?)!
Today's video was shot during my morning dog walk... it's like 9,000 degrees here so sorry about the sweat. :-)
