The #1 thing that successful board members do in the morning - It's not what you would expect!

Veblen Journal

I'm just kidding, I have no clue what successful board members do in their mornings.?The point I'm making is that there is a lot of rubbish content out there in the world.?And AI is not making it better.?It is tough to filter the fact from the fiction, the signal from the noise.?But it is an absolutely critical skill to develop as a board director.

When you get your board seat you are going to be faced with a bunch of situations to deal with.?Invariably the stressed out executive that brings you these situations will frame them with as much hyperbole as possible in order to get your full attention.?You will have to resist the urge to get caught up in the excitement of the moment.?It is critical that you can calm the situation down, assess it properly and ask the right questions.?You will still need to make decisions quickly, you will still need to make decisions with a lot less information than you would like, but you need to be able to do so with a rational and not an emotional mindset.

What board members eat for breakfast, the 7 most useful email skills, the 3 things no one tells you about X.?These are all copywriting skills designed to trigger an emotion that will drive a behaviour - clicking a link (or opening an email).?It's not bad, it works.?Just remember as a Director you need to be able to see it for what it is.

Have a great week.
