WCCTV’s Rapid Deployment CCTV Towers deployed in Wiltshire to tackle littering

You may have seen on BBC news that Wiltshire Council has launched a CCTV crackdown as part of their "Don't Mess with Wiltshire" campaign, which aims to reduce littering and change people's behaviour. We are pleased to announce that WCCTV partnered with Wiltshire Council to make this a success by strategically placing three mobile CCTV Towers in litter hotspots across the county.

Working closely with Wiltshire Council, our rapid deployment CCTV solutions help to prevent littering and catch culprits in the act. Our highly visible bright yellow Towers are 6m high, acting as a strong deterrent to criminal activity. Supported by 24/7 video monitoring services, they provide real-time detection and protection ensuring a clean and safe Wiltshire.

Wiltshire councillor Dominic Muns commented: “We are fighting back with these CCTV cameras, which will help to prevent littering and catch culprits in the act."

???WCCTV Expert Insights

Interview with Ross J. , Head of Public Sector at WCCTV

Q1) How are councils using mobile wireless CCTV cameras to monitor and reduce fly-tipping in public spaces?

"64% of Local Authorities use WCCTV camera systems. Most use Deployable Dome cameras with ANPR. However, some use WCCTV Standard Analytics to capture fly tipping motion detection events and receive these events as an email alarm/alert. This allows the client to connect instantly to a camera that notifies them of a fly tip.

Some councils use WCCTV Advanced?Left Items?analytics that will notify the client as someone leaves an item within a fly tipping area and receive these events as an email alarm/alert. Other councils have reported an 80% reduction in fly tipping after using our camera systems. Wiltshire Council is renting a WCCTV Solar Tower to stop fly tipping - as seen on BBC."

?Q2) What is Stellifii and what are the main operational benefits of using Stellifii?

"In essence, Stellifii is an all-in-one platform which transforms WCCTV's Redeployable CCTV into an innovative cloud-based platform for CCTV monitoring and data gathering. It offers several operational benefits, making it a robust choice for surveillance needs.

It provides faster live video, which allows operators to follow people and vehicles in real-time. The live video resolution is 720p, which provides operators greater ability to identify subjects during monitoring.

Additionally, Stellifii cameras enable quick downloads.1080p resolution can be downloaded directly from a Stellifii Camera on average between 5-10mins. Another key feature is that users can store an unlimited amount of video footage and raw data within their Stellifii cloud platform.

As the manufacturer, WCCTV offers bespoke development functions and features tailored to client needs. We also offer direct support, which eliminates the need for reliance on third-party services."

??Case Study

Erith – Bradford Road Gas Works – Site Security

Background: Erith Contractors were tasked with dismantling two disused gas holders in Manchester as part of a National Grid initiative.

Challenge: The site was in a highly populated area, which posed many safety and security risks. Valuable materials were at risk of theft, also potential trespassers could face serious dangers.

Solution: After WCCTV carried out a site survey, our Solar Fuel Cell Towers were selected and deployed. The Solar Fuel Cell Towers provided comprehensive coverage and operated independently of power and internet facilities. Supported by our full-service package, including installation, remote monitoring and access to a mobile app, we ensured thorough site security and documented project milestones with a time-lapse camera.

Result: Erith Contractors praised the effectiveness of WCCTV’s security systems.

Site manager Scott Hutson said: I would definitely recommend WCCTV; they have been very helpful."
