The 1 Sales Trend of 2024 ??
Last year I wrote about the "4 Sales Industry Trends of 2023… and how to WIN from them! ??" and they were balanced - they all had a huge impact on the year for all salespeople.
This year... there's just one... Do I even need to say it?
Ok... ?Artificial Intelligence?
????????(INSERT 'IMPEDING DOOM' GIF HERE)????????
It's clearly going to change pretty much every aspect of our jobs:
But also, I believe that at the core of sales... NOTHING will change. ??
What do I mean by that?
You won't be replaced by AI. You'll be replaced by someone better at using it than you!
I (ironically) asked ChatGPT to give me a list of ways Salespeople can use AI and it gave me a very comprehensive list, including: lead generation, communication personalisation, sentiment analysis, training and coaching, price optimisation, content creation, risk assessment... and blah blah blah... ??
But what it can't do is sell me this pen. And here's proof: ??
It understands what you're 'supposed' to do but it just can't do it.

Why? Because Selling is oldest profession for good reason.
It's based on trust and relationships. ??
Transactional sales will die, yes. A robot can take orders and say "thank you". ??
But I believe AI will assist Salespeople and make their job much easier by removing everything around the core of selling.
But that handshake, that eye-to-eye look, that connection of asking questions and understanding your pains - that's irreplaceable. ??
So don't fret - keep adding value and you're safe. ??
REMEMBER – don’t sell the pen… sell the SOLUTION!

1 年>> Absolutely agree w/ this great quote, Miles: "... at the core of sales, NOTHING will change." Especially in the era of #AI, and may the core #3S of sales for "Serving, Sharing, Solving" become even much more important then ever based on its identity belongs to a human business. And when we talk about #AI, it's about people, when we talk about #CX, it's about people, when we talk about #digitaltransformation, it's about the people, and when we talk about #KAIZEN for sustainable biz-growth, it's all about the people... So can't agree with you more. And ?? to always remind us to "Don't sell me this pen" ??? is to hold in the hand to write down sth instead of being sold back and forth... ?? #learnitall ??
