The #1 question I get from prospects

When I have discovery calls, there’s a good chance that I’ll get one of the following questions:

?? “Have you worked with our industry before?” (here’s my answer to that question)

?? “Do you work- with people in our time zone?” (Yes, that’s why we’re on this call right now)

?? “What is your process for finding the right tool for us going to look like?” (I’d love to hear more of those. If you let a process person talk about her process, you’re a few steps closer to being the perfect-fit client!)

But the one question I hear on 10 out of 10 discovery calls is:

?? Which tools do you work with?

Well, it’s time to set the record straight, once and for all!

Let’s start with the tools that I refuse to work with.?

Not because I can’t, but because I don’t like them, I don’t want to deal with them, and there are specialists who would be happy to play with these tools all day long:

  • Hubspot.
  • Zoho.
  • Salesforce.
  • Any tool that is proud to call itself an “all-in-one”.

Phew, it felt nice getting that off my chest!

But when it comes to other tools - there’s a reason why my website says “I’ve tested 978 tools (and counting!)”.?

I love tools. I love playing with tools.

Asking me whether I have worked with a tool is like asking me - “Have you ever played Monopoly? Well, this is the Angry Birds edition!”

The idea is the same.

Instead of Time Square, it’s going to be called something else. But the game has the same logic!

And even if it’s not entirely the same, I love learning new games.

A part of every project I take on is doing the research needed to find the right tool(s) for every client.?

If I already know the tool, that’s like me landing nonchalantly on “Go”. But if I don’t know the tool - I’m just as excited to build another property of Whizdom in an uncharted land.

Curious why you don’t with with zoho? I have a client that uses it. I also get asked if I’ve worked with specific industries before. And I don’t need to. I’m seasoned in creating visual identities that look current and timeless. You have to be the expert in your industry.
