1 Question to Drive Post-Coaching Momentum

1 Question to Drive Post-Coaching Momentum

Leaders: When coaching invididuals on your team, there are a lot of great questions you can ask; probably the most important:

'What small step can you take immediately to impact the commitment you just made?'

Whether the goal of the meeting is skill enhancement (filling the gap from 'current state' to 'ideal state') OR deal advancement - this question applies.

*Asking* them this question versus *telling* them what to do does a couple things: 1) Allows them to problem solve for themselves #empowerment, and, 2) puts the ownership on them #accountability. When it's vocalized, it's validated.

See Rich Austin explain here:

Like a lot of things, your coaching 'form' doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be effective.?

Small committments.?Momemtum started.?Time honored.?Next coaching session on the calendar.?Make the most out of the time your people invest in YOU to help THEM grow?
