Now, let me ask - do you ever feel like others control your schedule?
Let me share a quick story.
In 2016, I started therapy.
In the very first session, as I unloaded my frustrations, my therapist paused me with one question: "I hear you, but what's?your responsibility?in this?"
I was floored. I'd never asked myself that.
Why am I sharing this?
Because every day, we have dozens of conversations. Yet the one we often skip is with ourselves.
But that's exactly where your control actually lives.
the why
Most of us play what W. Timothy Gallwey, author of?The Inner Game of Tennis, calls the "outer game" - focusing on things we can't control.
But the real wins come from what he calls the "inner game."
Think of it this way: you wouldn't like it if someone else tried to change you, right? So why do we try so hard to change what's outside of our control?
True productivity starts by leading the only team you can fully manage:?yourself.?
In the inner game, there are two players: Self 1 and Self 2.
If Self 1 and Self 2 aren't in sync, you go on autopilot. You say "yes" to things that drain you, feeling trapped in busyness, and wondering where your time went.
The answers to a better schedule aren't out there. They're in the conversation you've been avoiding.
the how
Getting curious about myself changed everything. It helped me draw boundaries, escape the daily overwhelm, and let go of the guilt.
You can start too. All you need is 10 minutes.?
Most likely, you're facing one or more of these all-too-common scenarios (I've been there):
Sounds familiar?
Pick one, then ask yourself these game-changing questions:
Answer honestly, then listen. True productivity comes from that inner conversation, not a to-do list.
result
When you build self-curiosity, you take back control of your schedule.?
That’s when?the magic happens.
your play of the week
Become self-curious ???
Today, block 10 minutes to have an honest conversation with yourself (yes, out loud!)
Studies show that talking out loud with yourself sharpens clarity and helps with sense-making, so give it a try.
