1-Minute Wednesday No. 165: The 1-2-3 Method: A Simple Roadmap to Designing a Life That Matters

Design A Life That Really Matters

Do you ever feel like life is living you instead of you living it?

Often, life seems like a giant game of reaction, requiring you to jump from one task to another while still trying to achieve what’s important.

And somehow, we believe if we can just optimize our schedule, cut out downtime, and multitask - we can get it all done.?

But the truth is it’s a juggling act none of us can keep up with.?

The answer, paradoxically, doesn't lie in figuring out how to do more things in less time. It lies in figuring out how to do fewer things better.?

The 1-2-3 Method is a daily method you can use to take back control of your day and make this complex dance between the urgent and the essential easier to navigate. It’s simple on the surface but profound in its impact.

The 1-2-3 Method

  • Identify ONE essential project and work on it for three hours. This is today’s priority.
  • Identify TWO urgent and essential tasks that must get done to keep you from falling behind.
  • Identify THREE maintenance items to complete to stay organized and prevent problems.

In the race against time, having a clear roadmap ensures you’re investing your time in endeavors that align with your purpose and goals,?allowing you to design a life that truly matters.

"Because children grow up, we think a child's purpose is to grow up. But a child's purpose is to be a child. Nature doesn't disdain what lives only for a day. It pours the whole of itself into each moment...Life's bounty is in its flow, later is too late."?–? Tom Stoppard

I listened to your podcast about this, Greg “Q” McKeown I am going to work towards this. Just a note to say that when I feel overwhelmed, I often go back to your podcast, because of the way you organise for achievement. It's been helpful more than once - thank you ??????
