What makes eDVRs different from traditional DVRs?

The answer lies in the eSSD. eDVR’s most distinguishing feature is that it uses embedded SSD storage instead of the traditional HDD drives. SSD is a storage device consisting of a controller and NAND flash memory. The combined structure makes them resistant to physical impacts, low power consumers, and lightweight. In contrast, HDD is made of numerous mechanical parts including the spindle, actuator arm, and head. Friction causes wear and tear on these moving parts over time, making HDDs vulnerable to impacts and other risks. HDDs are usually big, heavy, and noisy.
