1 - Insight
YouTube Dominates Podcasting
One of the biggest issues with podcast is discovery.
Podcasting is generally a channel you need to have an audience to grow. Outside of YouTube there aren't great podcast discovery engines within any of the apps (although that's evolving with Spotify's new 'TikTok style' feed).
Discovery plus a preference for video has resulted in YouTube taking the top spot for podcast consumption.
YouTube's share has steadily grown from 14% in 2019 to 24.2% in 2022, while Apple's share has dropped from 26% to 16% over the same period. The combined share of the three major platforms (Apple, Spotify, and YouTube) has increased from 55% in 2019 to 64% in 2022.
(h/t @Dylan Harrari for putting this on my radar)

What are great AI Tools for creators?
In my last post I asked for people to send some of their favorite Ai tools for creators. I got some fun ones and culled it down to a handful that aren't already pretty well known.
Glystn - a community relationship management for creators. They community comments and messages to key insights and aid with creator response and engagement.
Bearly - Founded by Trung Phan (arguably the greatest twitter follow of all time), Bearly is awesome. It's an AI-powered research assistant that provides instant summaries and helps with writing. You can put in things like counter arguments, etc. Pretty amazing.
CreatorML - Create amazing YouTube titles and thumbnails. It helps you learn from your own, as well as other channels, about what kinds of thumbnails and titles work and perform best.
PS - Feel free to send me some more!
Lessons From Dream
It's been announced Dream is coming to Vidcon.
So, it seems like a great to time to shamelessly plug an in depth blog post I did of his channel (pre face reveal).
What makes Dream so fascinating?
In 2018 he had 1k subs. He then deleted his videos, tweeted he was going to study Youtube and come back and then 'blow up'.
And he delivered.
He's the Babe Ruth of YouTube - calling his shot and knocking it out of the parl.
