Born from a juxtaposition of femininity and rock n' roll on the sun-drenched streets of Sydney, One Teaspoon has matured to take its place on the world stage of designer fashion as an iconic leader and innovator of casual luxury. Today, they're Australia's #1 cult denim label and have been for over 20 years. One Teaspoon is not so much about how you look, it's about how you feel.


One Teaspoon enlisted the expertise of Overdose. Australia to craft a comprehensive digital roadmap and website, revolutionising their online presence. Faced with the challenge of navigating multiple outdated digital platforms, including eCommerce, POS, Loyalty, and Logistics, One Teaspoon sought a streamlined solution to propel their business into the future. Our collaboration focused on maximising efficiency, enhancing the shopping experience, and optimising product data management while prioritising loyalty growth. With a clear understanding that the existing systems hindered progress, our goal was to minimise technical debt, ensure long-term scalability, and drive operational efficiencies to support One Teaspoon's vision for sustainable growth.


Integrations

One Teaspoon orchestrated a strategic integration of Shopify Plus with Global-E to streamline internationalisation efforts, harnessing the power of a unified Shopify instance with Global-E's multi-currency capabilities.

The transition from MailChimp to Klaviyo amplified email marketing personalisation, while FourSixty was instrumental in fostering on-site user-generated content initiatives.


With a focus on efficiency, SKULabs was adopted as the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for order management, complemented by DolFIN as the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Additionally, a bespoke integration utilising DataJet and SKULabs API automated customer refunds where the warehouse faced fulfilment challenges.


Challenge

CHALLENGE #001 : Simplifying a Customised Platform for Enhanced Manageability

The existing eCommerce platform heavily relied on customisations, requiring developer intervention for any adjustments. This complexity made internal management challenging and hindered the client's ability to adapt quickly to market changes.

SOLUTION : By leveraging Shopify's robust out-of-the-box features, we provided the client with greater control and flexibility. This empowered them to make modifications independently, ensuring agility in responding to the dynamic market landscape.

CHALLENGE #002 : Streamlining Complex Architecture

The current system architecture, was overly intricate and didn't effectively meet the business needs. Its lack of scalability posed difficulties in adapting to changing demands and hampered operational efficiency.

SOLUTION : Our approach involved simplifying the tech stack by prioritising native integrations and incorporating user-friendly SaaS-based applications, empowering the client to manage the system internally with greater ease.

UX & UI

During the project, The Overdose. Design team tackled various UX/UI challenges to enhance the online shopping experience while staying true to the brand’s identity. Embracing fashion eCommerce best practices, we focussed on designing a visually appealing and intuitive interface that seamlessly integrated One Teaspoon’s unique brand elements within the Shopify platform. This delicate balance ensured the site exuded a premium, bespoke feel distinct from standard Shopify templates. Recognising the significance of a smooth shopping journey, we revamped the size guide to be more user-friendly and intuitive, simplifying information presentation and adding interactive features for easier navigation. These enhancements elevated the brand’s online presence and crafted a more immersive, luxurious, and user-centric shopping experience, in line with the One Teaspoon aesthetic and ethos.
