Answer: They are all in this edition of this newsletter :)
Don’t know what to watch on Youtube right now? Here’s comes the best from my viewing history lately.
Thank you for being awesome and subscribing to this newletter.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen I’ve been away on a trip to Bali to shoot my next film out of a hundred about people making the world a better place. And I just got back a week ago.
So how are things going? Well. I’m about a year into this project, that I’m financing myself with the hope of it generating some sort of income down the line. I can sum it up in a very short sentence:
It’s hard, I’m poorer than ever and it’s super rewarding.
It’s hard because I naively believed I would have come further, have more subscribers and get more views on my films by now. But I’ve learned it takes a long time building an audience, and learning the craft of storytelling for Youtube (which is part of the reason I’m doing this newsletter).
I’m poorer than ever because this takes away so much of my focus from getting new clients that are actually paying for things. This work is so far only costing me. But I’m trying now to shift the balance a bit to be able to continue.
It’s super rewarding and totally worth being poor, because it matters. And it’s the most fun thing I’ve done so far in my career. As some wise person said “If you know the why, you can stand almost any how”.
I’m sure that if I keep following my passion and keep getting better, it will turn around the way I envision it, or in a completely different way that I couldn’t have foreseen, which is ok too.
Enough about me.
These films on Youtube however, are all super worth watching:
#01 Can sunsets save the world? (My contribution): < 3 minutes
#02 The Guianas: South America's Weirdest Countries: 20 minutes
#03 AI Generated Videos Just Changed Forever: 12 minutes
#04 Apple - The House that Tim Cook Built: 31 minutes
#05 Filmmaking tips: Timeless Filmmaking Advice That Will Change Your Life: 15 minutes
ENJOY!
(And don’t forget to subscribe to my channel STORY BY DANEHAV - it helps me grow and hopefully soon I can do this project full time which is my way of contributing to a better world.)
#01 Can sunsets save the world?
I got this idea stuck in my head… I just got back from Bali. While being there I am constantly drawn to the beach to watch the sun disappear below the horizon. And obviously I had to film it almost every night.
So after a couple of weeks I started asking myself why this happened. Not only for me but for the thousands of people hanging out on the beach every night for this magic moment.
This film is my philosophical result. Do you agree?
(2 minutes 42 seconds is really one of my shorter videos, I hope you like it - please give it a comment if you do:)
#2 The Guianas: South America's Weirdest Countries?

I love finding well researched films about topics I didn’t know I needed to know about. And if you do too: This is one of them.
I have always been fascinated with maps, geography and how people have moved around changing the trajectory of how the world develops. I think we can learn a lot from the past.
In this film Alex Rothman takes you through the history of the worlds least talked about countries, Guyana, Surinam and French Guyana. Which of the latter is actually not even a country… But still a part of France.
The slow paced storytelling is perfect for Saturday or Sunday morning coffee. There is a whole series on these territories, but so far this is the only one I had time to watch.
#3 AI Generated Videos Just Changed Forever
This video came out yesterday and really made a splash. It follows OpenAI’s release of Sora, their video generation AI, and it is crazy. Just crazy how far this technology has come in only ONE YEAR.
Marques Brownlee breaks it down into a very easy to digest comparison and offers some great thinking about what this means going forward.
If you want to stay updated with our current reality, this is a must watch. 12 minutes is a small price to pay for this knowledge.
#4: Apple - The House that Tim Cook Built
Steve Jobs is often attributed as the hero that created everything that apple is today. And there’s no denying, he was the visionary who laid the groundwork for it, but Tim Cook who took over as CEO when Steve died, has made it from a relatively small nerd-friendly company into what it is now - the world’s most valuable company with over 3 trillion dollars of market cap, which is insane.
This film explains the journey Apple has been on for the last 13 years since Steve Jobs passed away. It is seriously interesting and well told.
Filmmaking tips: Timeless Filmmaking Advice That Will Change Your Life
This film about filmmaking is not about technical know how, it’s more of a way of thinking kind of film, with some really good advice. Packaged in Luc’s story of how he became a full time documentary filmmaker shooting for all the big productions of Netflix, NatGeo etc, is the top three best nuggets of advice he’s received during his career.
Thank you so much for reading this far!

It takes 3 minutes to make an account and once you have trained the algorithm to what you like to watch it provides an infinite source of inspiration that will always be there for you.
