The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
It's almost time to greet another New Year!
Chinese New Year! Vietnamese New Year!
And it's the year of the Dragon!!
I've always wondered why Dragons are so important.
The significance of dragons in Asian culture transcends folklore, embodying values, beliefs, and aspirations that have endured for millennia.
Don't i know it!
Why Dragons are significant?
1. Symbolism of Power and Strength
Dragons represent power, strength, and good fortune in Asian culture.
Unlike the fearsome beasts of Western mythology, Asian dragons are revered entities, often associated with celestial powers.
They symbolize potent forces of nature and are believed to bring blessings, prosperity, and protection.
2. Emblem of Imperial Authority
In China, dragons historically symbolized the emperor's authority and the imperial family.
Emperors were often referred to as the "sons of the dragon," and the dragon itself was an emblem of their divine right to rule.
It signified leadership, wisdom, and the harmonious connection between the heavens and the earthly realm.
3. Harbingers of Good Luck
The belief in dragons as bearers of good fortune is deeply rooted in Asian culture.

It's a time marked by celebrations, dragon dances, and the invocation of luck and prosperity.
4. Guardians of Wisdom and Knowledge
Dragons are often associated with wisdom and knowledge in Asian folklore.
They are depicted as wise creatures, possessing profound insights and ancient understanding.
This association extends to teachings about balance, harmony, and the interconnectedness of all things.
5. Cultural Unity and Pride
The dragon's significance extends beyond borders, uniting diverse Asian communities under a common symbol.
It fosters a sense of shared identity, pride in heritage, and a connection to ancestral roots.
Celebrations such as dragon boat festivals in China and the reverence for dragon imagery in art and literature serve as vibrant reminders of this unity.
Would love to end by wishing all those who are celebrating the Chinese/ Vietnamese New Year a Prosperous and joyful year full of fun and laughter!
