#030 : Insight __ how Sistema? delivered a Scalable Infrastructure with Adobe Commerce, Klaviyo & Algolia.
Sistema? was built on one man’s dream in his garage in a small town in New Zealand. From those humble beginnings, Sistema? is now supported by a global team of over 700 employees. The vision to manufacture beautifully designed products in New Zealand and ship them to customers around the world has been realised.

Sistema? approached Overdose. to complete a tech roadmap to deliver a digital solution for the Sistema? Plastics brand by implementing a scalable, global CMS to promote the corporate brand website and provide the necessary flexibility for development into regional-specific eCommerce initiatives as required.
The intention of the project is to prepare a platform that allows Sistema? to increasingly penetrate the respective target markets. The key business objectives are brand strength, conveyance of innovative and sustainable manufacturing, retailer advocacy and category growth and awareness. Adobe Commerce Magento 2 was in part chosen as it natively supports retailers’ ability for multi-channel inventory, multi-currency, multi-domain, and multi-language all from a single installation.
Integrations
As part of this project, Overdose. integrated the Adobe Commerce platform with Klaviyo and Algolia. For search implementation, Algolia was used, since it provides the users with a fast and rich search experience. Algolia is an industry-leading SaaS offering that ingests product master data along with all relevant attributes and provides ranked and faceted search. Active Products, CMS Pages, Blog Posts, Recipes and Video Pages are indexed by the Algolia extension, allowing the users to search for pages in the autocomplete menu.
Klaviyo was implemented for marketing automation, to allow the regional targeting of country lists and segmented content delivery based on the collection of customer data from the new site.
CHALLENGE #001 : Speed to market and flexibility
Deliver a solution with speed to market in mind and maintain the flexibility of changing business requirements e.g. new product ranges, regions and digital commerce requirements.
SOLUTION : A base solution was built utilising Adobe Commerce that includes a solid portfolio of native capabilities while supporting the evolution into localised or global eCommerce if required.
CHALLENGE #002 : Delivering a non-transactional direct-to-consumer site which still drives sales
We worked closely with the Sistema? team during the design phase to solve their brand challenges, the biggest one being that Sistema? is not currently an eCommerce site, this meant that our main focus was providing the customer with enough educational information to drive them into a stockist to purchase the products.
SOLUTION : We put a large amount of focus on the type of content housed on the site to ensure the customer has enough information about the product quality, product scale, as well as product functions and features. A product comparison table was a key feature to house on the site given the difficulty of judging the size and scale of a product online, this helped ensure the customer would choose the right product for their needs.
CHALLENGE #003 : Simplifying the browsing process
The next focal point was simplifying the browsing process, previously the site navigation was led with jargon, making for a frustrating and confusing browsing experience for the user.
SOLUTION : We first broke down the products into two main categories; Food Storage and Home Storage, from there both categories were broken even further into categories the Sistema user could relate to, examples include, Everyday Use, Meal Prep, Pantry Storage etc. This new navigation structure meant the user was able to streamline their search extremely quickly while finding products that perfectly suit their needs.

CHALLENGE #004 : Localised Experience
Sistema? was looking to target their different markets with localised content and tailored digital marketing relevant to the particular region's product offering and audience.
SOLUTION : Overdose. recommended creating a base store which could be leveraged and adapted for local markets. This approach allows for efficient infrastructure and theme management while allowing each store view to be managed independently to deliver rich, localised brand-led experiences.
