#03 NaviEdit: Importing files
The NaviEdit software is a part of EIVA NaviSuite and is designed for displaying and editing survey data. In order to load hydrographic survey data into the database, NaviEdit supports the import of several data formats.?
The most important are described in the following:
The NaviScan importer is used to load data acquired using EIVA’s multi-beam acquisition software, in addition to that it can be used to load XTF files. Data logged in NaviScan is stored in the binary SBD format (.SBD).
The Kongsberg importer is used to load data acquired using Kongsberg’s SIS (Seabed Information System) acquisition package (.all, .em, .kmall).
The GSF importer is used to load data in the Generic Sensor Format, that format has become a standard for exchange of hydrographic survey data (.gsf).
The NaviPac importer is used to load data acquired using EIVA’s data-acquisition and navigation software (.NPD).
The ASCII importer is used to import a large variety of data types like: sound velocity, tide, CTD (depth/sound velocity/pressure), surface pressure information (time/pressure), line-KP, XYZ, etc.
There are more importers like UKOOA P6/11 seismic bin grid Files (*.p611), Imagenex Files (*.83P, *.P96) and Elac XSE Files (.XSE).
Once a file is loaded into the NaviEdit database, it is called a block.
