#024 Fasten your seatbelts, we are ready for takeoff!

Hey Hey Hey, another round of updates will come in with this episode of the RBM Newsletter.

We are excited to see M?max Deutschland has integrated a QR-Code on their brochures to register for RCS-Newsletter Service under our Monthly Active User based model.

Also mydealz has launched their RCS campaign on Twitch to register for their RCS-Newsletter - also based on our MAU model what is a game changer for this kind of service!

Apple has just begun to send out update notifications to their users, what leads in an increase of iOS registrations with the RCS service. So we ALREADY EXEEDED WHATSAPP USER COUNT IN GERMANY!!! with more than 44m user.

Also on Android we are working to get that missing users going with RCS as soon as possible and just evaluating the gap and reasons behind (like outdated phone that can′t get needed updates, even if it would just require Android 5.0 or higer, what is 2014 software, but still some millions to be seen in our networks with older phones than that).

Yes, we still face some teething problems on 苹果 iOS but have reported them down the line and hope to get them fixed asap to reach as good user experience as for 谷歌 end user.

We know bot info and images gets lost after some time, presuamble due to cache issues, but we are on it. So yes, early stages, but the rollercoaster is ready to ride and get your tickets!

Some more exciting projects ahead

We′ve scheduled already the next promising projects supported by Deutsche Telekom + Vodafone + Telefónica Germany + 谷歌 to go live in 2025...exciting times ahead.

Competition / Rumors

As Meta has just announced their upcoming pricing updates = to change from conversation based billing to pay-per-message / template it will become an even more expensive channel for conversations what is also an automated sales thread resulting from the first template.

With RCS you can send your campaign without any template need on a single message cost and only if a user will respond it will become a session where you can interact 24h to solve that need. For high frequency services like Newsletter with recurring posts on behalf of a subscription we offewr a fix fee based model called Monthly Active User.

Whereas Meta now announced to make service chats free of charge (and use of Utility Templates within service chats), we are still questioning if this is the right way as somewhere any non-charity company needs to earn their revenues and if it′s not with the service itself, what could it be... I leave it with you to have your own thoughts. Even if it′s "just" to bait and switch to build the business case on the bet of use of additional marketing templates after a service chat, it′s weak imo. Anyway, not our business, so just a personal rating.

Work in progress

Beside getting the issues with iOS launch fixed, we are working on implementing various P2A options like QR Code Support or even Shortcode Support as well as Deep Links. Especially a shortcode would cover SMS and RCS user, while the capable ones will be redirected directly into the chat, the others would be able to receive a similar fallback for the meantime until they are enabled too. Smart and efficient. 100% reach, can be promoted on-screen, in print and radio as well as be put behind a QR Code. Maybe the revival of Shortcodes though? ;-)

New Partners

I like to welcome Dexatel and RouteMobile as new xMNO Enablers for RBM that will be present at www.rcsbusinessmessaging.de/en soon.

Will we hit the 1.000 Newsletter subscribers soon? I will organize a special gift out of our RBM marketing equipment to that one when it comes to that, promised :-)

This just as a quick Black Week Update and stay tuned for the next one.

Yours, #B
