As stated in her New Year Letter, this series aims to unveil limitless possibilities and birth champions who will journey alongside us as we embark on a year of global influence. We plan to expand our global offices into Europe, Asia, and the USA.

The journey commenced with modest projects—child development initiatives, rural empowerment, training programs, and exhibitions—marked by numerous small victories!

Embrace the beauty of small victories, for in the details of everyday routines and the completion of modest projects lies the foundation of monumental achievements. Master the small, and the grand will follow suit.

Benita's story is an extraordinary tale that will ignite inspiration as we embark on our journey to reshape the world.

Let's Explore Benita

Benita walked into the hall for her test; hundreds of other children were already there, waiting patiently to be called in.

She walked in looking tired, timid and scared, having travelled for over four hours from Badagry, a coastal town in Lagos State, to the City of Lagos, Nigeria.

The interviewer, Ms Amina, waited a few seconds with her eyes fixed on Benita. The interview started with a chat to spark her confidence, a boost Benita needed to recharge and focus on the big picture.

Benita's voice was clear and loud, with a sense of responsibility and urgency that drew people's attention in the hallway.

As she answered the questions, Ms Amina screamed!? “There is something about you, Benita. Your voice is powerful. You are a Princess. A Princess should always be bold, look straight into my eyes and pour out your heart", Ms. Amina added.

That day in 2014, Benita gained courage and poured her heart as she narrated the pain and agony of the abducted Chibok Girls.

The World of Possibilities

Guess what? Benita saw a world of possibilities where she would make a difference, and her artistic expression was brilliant. She didn't look like it, but she possessed the voice, wisdom, insights, determination, dedication, ruggedness and willpower to solve problems in real life and win the competition.

Benita is a bold changemaker and advocate for children, youth and women, perhaps a Literary icon in the making.

Benita made the final list after the last screening exercise.

She was selected to represent her school. Over two hundred applications were received from seventy-two schools in Lagos State. Thirty finalists (Painting Category), including Benita, qualified to proceed to the next phase of the competition.

The journey that lasted six months, from the application stage to the final awards, produced six award winners from six schools, including Benita.

Over the years, she was coached by different teachers. She attended book clubs and invested in personal development.

Year after year, Benita became a change activist.

The Giant Strides

At 12, Benita made a poetry presentation before the Lagos State governor and his cabinet members. She wowed the audience with her brilliant performance. She combined her literary prowess with other skills.

At 16, Benita was onboarded to the Solution17 platform as a climate change advocate and emerged as one of the Solution17 Climate Artists in 2020.

She has lent her voice through poetry, painting, speaking engagements, and climate solutions to advocate for green education, green community, transition to green energy, strengthened government policy, and sustainable planet.

She is determined to work with her team and youth worldwide to lead a meaningful and impactful change. She believes her Campaign will mobilise the human race to rise and take sustainable action to save the crumbling planet. Her recent artwork is themed, "Turning away from the energy of death (fossil fuels) to the energy of life and sustainability (clean and renewable energy)".

At 19, Benita graduated from Lagos State University with a degree in English Literature.

The Formula for Benita's Success

Benita possesses the power of positive thinking, dedication, resilience, commitment and tenacity.

The story of Benita is the motivation for 'The Book of Acts'. It promotes the role of Education, Creativity, and Community Engagements that will propel youth and everyone everywhere to take steps towards a desired future.
