#02 Encounter with Cloud concept: Understanding Virtual Private Cloud ( VPCs)

What is VPCs mean for you ??

Lets start with an example. Almost all of us use Facebook..right?

Take it as reference to understand the concept of VPC. Via internet connection, people use Facebook. Within Facebook

• YOU will have your Homepage
• I will have my Homepage
• Friend's will have their Homepages
• And there are billions other Homepages.

Now your Homepage is the PRIVATE section where you put your Posts, Videos, Photos & Other contents, not only that, you can have a level of SECURITY ( who you allow to see, comment on your posts etc..)

So, your Homepage is your own Private section of Facebook. Same applicable for My Homepage & for others.

Now by swapping Facebook with AWS in the above diagram, you will understand the basics about VPCs.

In your VPCs in AWS, you can put AWS EC2 resources, AWS RDS resources in VPC [ What is EC2/RDS ?... will discuss in later articles ], just like in Facebook you put your own contents in Private section.

Like Facebook, you also can put level of security for the AWS resources within your own VPC, to allow or restrict access to use your Database, EC2 Servers, and other resources.
