008: TikTok Trends (Taylor's Version) ??

Happy Tuesday everyone! We are already on Week 8 which is insane!

I know I talk about all about TikTok but this past week I have fed into the hype of getting the new Threads app, I feel like it is a great way to express yourself and thoughts. It's insane to think that it gained 30 million users in less than a day.

What do you guys think about the app? Will it really be a competitor to Twitter? ??


???TikTok Trending Videos:

  • Me when: ?This photo swipe through showcases 3 different scenarios, 2 of which don't affect you and then the 3rd which causes you to have a reaction (e.g. cry, scream, be shocked etc.). Brands could utilise this trend to depict; 'when our warehouse looked like this after Black Friday' 'when we got to Maccas at 10:01 and they finished serving breakfast' etc.


  • Rolling products down the stairs:?A massive shout out to whoever runs the MAC Cosmetics Tiktok page because this is great! This trend is being applied to each niche, whether it's makeup, actual bottles or even astrology creators saying what sign each bottle is. Brands can easily incorporate this trend by using their own products to roll or throw down the stairs like Mac, you could use hair clips, cans of drink or food etc.


  • Here's Eric Cartman: This trend is a fun way of showing a situation that people would judge you for, 'here comes the girl/ guy who...'. Various creators have used this trend but my personal favourite is Reece who used this for promo for the new season of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty'. Brands can utilise this trend to display the benefits of choosing your brand, e.g. 'here comes the brand that is having a 40% off sale' 'here comes the better soft drink, with zero sugar.'

?? TikTok Trending Audio:

  • Vampire - Olivia Rodrigo: ?With the release of Olivia's new single, of course, TikTok is not too far behind on this sound. The most common use of the sound has been a transition video on the guitar solo after the iconic line 'blood sucker, fame f**ker.'


  • We need cash: This sound has been all of my FYP which creators and their friends recreating this sound with the Big Eye Baby filter, this a just a fun one that creators or even staff can get on to just boost engagement, reach and awareness.


  • Okay how do I look:??This sound is a great one for a clothing brand! Creators have used this trend to showcase their outfits and brand could easily do this one too. Companies can use it to display either a clothing item, or a new packaging design they are launching.

TikTok releases 'Always In' strategy for businesses to understand TikTok

Actions speak louder than words, with 76% of TikTok users saying the best brands on TikTok are really active and never stand still. 'Always In' is a strategy grounded by one simple truth: people evolve every day. On TikTok, 80% of users find interests they didn't know they were even interested in. 41% of users say they frequently purchase a product they’ve discovered on TikTok.

The strategy is broken down into 3 main parts: Know where to Stay & Play, Make every encounter count and Break silos and build bridges.

TikTok updates the search feature even more!

One of my friends is an avid F1 fan and after searching for one of her videos I saw this. When you search F1 it comes up with the the races and dates, common questions and the latest videos from the F1 and other sponsors pages.

I haven't seen this kind of update on other sports pages yet, but I have seen a little Wikipedia section about the team or sport when searching on TikTok.
