The all too ubiquitous ringing of your mobile or business phone is today commonly met with you saying "another *^(*& Robocall." You decline the call, block the caller and maybe inform your IT group of the problematic calling exchange. The robocall epidemic is making dangerous inroads into businesses causing productivity and profitability losses. Both service providers and businesses have a new way to address this problem through emerging Federal Communications Commission (FCC) anti-Robocall standards and industry innovation.
James Bond would smile at the FCC's use of SHAKEN and STIR. APSMarketing client RedShift is working with the FCC, service provider and enterprise customers to offer a new anti-Robocall solution to this large-scale problem:
- 40% of North American calls are Robocalls
- FCC & International regulators are starting to mandate providers and businesses prevent and block Robocalls with FCC SHAKEN & STIR standards and other mechanisms,
- Robocall and spoofing is a voice over IP (VoIP) cyber security problem requiring a deep context driven real time network, application and user layer analysis. A simple whitelist and blacklist database approach is insufficient
- RedShift Network’s Unified Communication Threat Management (UCTM) technology protects against more than 40,000 VoIP cyber threats including robocalls
Here's the new whitepaper discussing the Robocall problem and one approach businesses are taking to eliminate the issue: https://redshiftnetworks.com/company/resource-library/the-growing-threat-of-robocalls-in-the-us/
