002 Student Success: How a shared purpose today will change the game for students

It can be the ultimate one reason so many students make wrong decisions, guess, are confused, overwhelmed, and become complacent upon their own preparation into and through their college experience. Real stagnancy mixed with stress.

There are 2 types of purpose we are going to speak about with 2 visions in mind for students today. Even you reading this can consider and maybe share with a fellow aspiring young professional to take the pressure of life off just a bit with a bit of a twist to how they identify with themselves as to their purpose.

1. The first purpose is the Purpose for Life that is defined over time and continuous that we all are seeking and may have found or are getting closer to.

For all of us 'Life Purpose is usually not defined until enough of life's pleasures, bumps, bruises, experience, exposures, growth moments happen along the way. Mine took 20 years and for today's young students, it can be so stressful. The purpose that takes years for many (not all) is this purpose in life and that can be ongoing and defined continuously over time; in fairness to subjectivity. But wow are we happy we found our purpose to drive real world student success as post grads and real world navigation experts. 'Now' is a key word...

2. The second purpose that truly begins the Student Success path is all students shared Purpose of Now.

This is why we wrote the article. We as in StudentSuccessU team that is building here out east to launch very soon to North America first then globally on iTunes and web. This 'shared purpose of now' for the students we are speaking to who are High School upperclassmen all the way through grad students in college (16-60, some students are older who go back, we aren't stereotyping) that they can absolutely build as their purpose now. It is not being instilled early enough to build that foundational purpose rooted on their path (by 60 we hope those students may have found it, but if not, maybe they will now). All students need to clearly understand why they are doing what they are doing and what they are focused on to achieve their version of their own student success. This shared purpose of now can viewed as one of a few purposes and that is fine. It is rooted. It is core. And it is clear as one shared common thing that all students should foundationally be doing.

EVERY STUDENT'S SHARED PURPOSE YOU CAN SHARE WITH THAT SPECIAL ASPIRING ROCKSTAR TO FOSTER THEIR STUDENT SUCCESS IS...

Each student's purpose now is to be that, right now and forward open and growth minded.

It is a new foundation they are going to root right now that they are going to embark on their own life and self discovery campaign specifically the next 3-5 years being investigators, following a system to connect with people, build real connected relationships, ask great questions, and build sought after soft skills. This will all allow them to tell a story of their brand of themselves that not only makes a WOW impression on the brand of them but also allows them to get noticed (market that brand), get hired (sell that brand), and survive the debt that is graduation (momentum early to grow that brand). It allows them to be thought leaders because they are discovering what their peers aren't. They are targeted and they are relevant in their process. They are learning and will be able to help their peers foster progress and probably even some of their own professors and counselors too with some new info they have discovered.

It's the purpose now of discovering and action. Putting in true effort now by being aware earlier then ever, is what will root the productive and progress driven campaign students will be on. Knowing allows you to take action and feel confident. It's the difference of meeting someone who is an expert in your field of interest BEFORE you declare your field to ask pointed questions about it (we teach this step by step) so before you dive in, spend 100K and decide you want to switch, you know WHY (the almighty reasons) you will be considering something else ahead of time.

Doing it early. Doing it with purpose to gain exposures before experiences which allow for that decision making soft skill to kick in. Asking good questions allows the communication and interpersonal skill to grow as a 2 way communicator and young person. When students have purpose, they build confidence. They allow themselves to keep a growth and open mindset.

And most of all they allow themselves to get rid of extreme overwhelm, stress, and confusion which cloud their progress. That's the goal is to un-confuse, feel productive, and allow their young minds to open up and stay open.

This message is important to us because it starts it all for them. It starts it the right way. The real world way. A way they can feel great about building onto. In summary, a message that roots Purpose Now for all students is to go on a pointed, directed, discovery driven campaign to build skills, relationships, no and yes decisions, passion projects, side hustles, and new experiences because they know WHY they are doing WHAT they are doing early on.
