The Thai Child Development Foundation does not only help special needs children in the Phato District, Chumphon Province. We support children with special needs, disabled children, and underprivileged children in many areas in Thailand. We work closely together with healthcare workers, teachers, and changemakers in other civil organizations working with women and children in other parts of Thailand. With our partners, we can help more children in rural Thailand. For example Nong Fone

A girl from Loei Province, Northeast of Thailand. She has congenital disease, leukemia, and ischemic brain disease. She is 18 years old, living with her father and mother, and staying on the mountains for months during the time of harvest.

Nong Fone needs to be treated at Srinakarin Hospital, in Khon Kaen Province. A public hospital with specialized doctors and modern equipment. But the greatest challenge is that each time Nong Fone has to travel from Loei Province to the hospital in Khon Kaen Province, it is a distance of more than 200 kilometers. Her parents do not own a car, public transportation is very limited and often they had to postpone their doctor's appointments.

Currently, the doctor treats her symptomatically. She stopped chemotherapy in March 2021 but still needs to be scheduled for follow-up, blood tests, anticonvulsants, and antiplatelet drugs. Because spasms are the result of ischemic strokes and spasms are more frequent than before and must be taken care of closely at all times

The Thai Child Development Foundation now supports her much-needed medical trips, offering assistance and in-home support within the health care program as much as possible.? Nong Fone has to exercise the leg and arm muscles while at home so she can become strong enough to stay home alone. Her parents must work on the farm.?
