Have been listening or using above proverbs since childhood but never realized that I am also victim of this phenomenon.

Every year, takes pledge against one or other fruits (Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha) of life i.e. ‘Purushartha’ and seek valuable insights or directions from great leaders or book to realize them but in vein.

Causes are intriguing and situation seems to be very frustrating as I have been preaching everyone to make commitment towards one or two goals and pursue them with full might at the beginning of the year but my story is always an example of failure till someone advised to reflect the meaning of initial lines of ‘Shree Hanuman Chalisa’.

Meaning:

With the Dust of the Lotus Feet of Sri Gurudeva, I Clean the Mirror of my Mind.

I Narrate the Sacred Glory of Sri Raghubar (Sri Rama Chandra), who bestows the Four Fruits of Life (Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha).

I got mesmerized with the very first line itself, where path of achieving four fruits of life i.e. ultimate goals of life is described in just one sentence, ‘ clean the mirror of mind’.

Such a simple but powerful life mantra was too close to me but I couldn’t visualize it, though recite ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ on daily basis.

Further, analogy of Lotus flower guided me in shaping mind like Lotus flower, which is grown in dirty waters but is not affected with the vices or evils of effluent.

Moving to second line actually became end point of my intellectual quest and I experienced a great ray of enlightenment in the words Ignorant, afflictions and blemish etc.

Role of Humility, Unlearning & Meditation became so evident for competency (Strength, Wisdom and Knowledge) development in any walk of life and getting away from Afflictions and Blemish makes our mind clear for cropping four fruits of life.

Meaning:

Considering Myself as Ignorant, I Meditate on You, O Pavan Kumar (Hanuman).

Bestow on me Strength, Wisdom and Knowledge, and Remove my Afflictions and Blemish.

In just 4 lines of ‘Shree Hanuman Chalisa’ I got answer of why I am not able to pursue my goals of life, in spite of making every year new resolutions and running after peoples and others like a blind man to find the required knowledge to translate the goals in reality though it is passing in front of my eyes and ears and I was an ignorant person proving above proverbs, “????? ??? ??????”
