(I wanted to share this story for a longest time but was always occupied in something or other.)

I hail from a very humble farming family from a far-flung village Khad Mohan Nagar in Bulandshahr ,UP.?I am married to a beautiful Lady and have 2 two kids.?

I am a farmer by DNA, an author by passion and a management practitioner by profession.?

I belong to the Hindi speaking belt inNorth India which is famous for literary and academic excellence inLiterature. I have been raised by my parents and we come from a reputed Hindu family from the area we belong to.??

My mother is illiterate, and my entire clan had been into farming only. My father is a farmer but a mindful and informed farmer. I was raised in the family until myhigher secondary from a Govtschool in nearby town. We used to walk on foot every day for about 8 kilometres muddy and broken roads to reach school. I was the youngest one in family of two elder siblings.

My father decided that I will be sent to city to pursue further studies as the environment and ecosystem is not conducive enough in the village to rise further. So, I was moved to a city Hapur to pursue graduation in the field of computer Applications.I then pursued my post-graduation in management.

?When I got my first job, after completing the joining formalities I decided to visit my parents, family, and friends in the village.

I along with my father went to see farms while sitting beside tube well and having casual conversation, my father suddenly asked me…

And then I moved to Bangalore and recently pursued my further management studies from IIM Bangalore. I joined Oracle. After having spent about 9 years I recently left Oracle. This was my second stint @ Oracle.

Here is the complete story. At my first stint I got into Oracle after clearing 5 rounds of interviews and accepted the job offer and joined Oracle in 2010. I was loving every bit of it. Oracle was one of my dream companies.

For 5 years of hard work and producing excellent results, I was given great respect and recognition but less salary hike.

I was okay with this but still I moved on and joined other Organization in 2015.

In 2017 based on my past karma and good reputation within Oracle management, I was approached, and I joined back Oracle again. I worked dedicatedly, and my tasks were always on time. Unlike others, I would be very committed to what I had to do.

But I had to leave Oracle in 2021.

One of the reasons I left Oracle was lack of recognition and respect I deserved as an employee in recent years.

This time major reasons which played an instrumental role in leaving Oracle was not salary hike but lack of creative opportunities, respect, and recognition.

And the worst part? My peers made through not because they were dedicated to work but because they were in great talking terms with the bosses.

“My new boss loved me and hated all at the same time.”

… Loved me for my talent and hated me for my NO-Yes man, candid & honest attitude. I had my perspective and opinions about business decisions which he dint like.

Very soon, I realised that it would not work for me. I didn't want to be a part of dirty office politics.

Then I went back to my father again and shared about my bad boss and he told me another story…

Lessons Learnt.

1.????Change is the only constant.

2.????Give your fullest honestly till you are part of an organization.

3.????Don’t give a damn to bad bosses, let someone more powerful correct them. ?
