“???”, MAGIC OR SORCERY IN THE LIGHT OF THE QURAN

The real meaning of ???. I have been thinking this since I were kid. I never see in my owns eyes any evidence that someone can do certain things just by chanting a few words or rhymes. And from my personal experience when my father in law invite me to company him to see a shaman aka witch doctor to heal his illness, I can say this is bullshit. An open lie but people still believe. At last my father in law have to go to hospital to heal his illness. I said to myself, if all witch doctors were true that they can heal people's illness, I'm pretty sure that modern hospital will not progress and fail. Instead the witch doctor's facilities will prosper because the simplicity of the curing procedure. They can do the unseen surgery too in Malaysia but without heal the patient's condition. But still many people believe in them. And you can ask them too kill someone by wind... And also to break ties between husband and wife... Like in the Quran translation, the story of harut and marut.

The correct meaning of the word “???” is constrain, hold down, seduce, deprive, urge, drive, hog tie or chain something, shunt, cease, withhold, hinder, holdback, suppress, arrest, choke, interrupt, repulse, nip in the bud, obstruct, push, pressurize, impel, intimidate, administer, domineering, take over, subdued, captivation, catch and entrance. In a broad spectrum “???” is similar to ‘hypnosis’ administered with one’s mental power which is the induction of a state of consciousness in which a person apparently loses the power of voluntary action and is highly responsive to suggestion or direction. It is used to allow modification of behaviour.

Have you noticed the time of “???” (twilight time) when most of the people go to deep sleeping state, who keep turning their sides all night but don’t sleep until “???” falls and those who sleep all night they even don’t like to be woken up at the time of “???” as at the time of “???” they are actually in deep sleep. This is the reason why this time is called “???” in Arabic, which is a period or state of obscurity, ambiguity, decline, waning, downturn or gradual decline due to shade of cloudiness, semi-darkness, dimness and gloom in the atmosphere.

“???” is commonly called magic or sorcery but this is a game of mind played with one’s own mental power in which the operator or doer (????) gets affected minds (?????) tired with sent suggestions or directions and when their mind goes into limp mood the operator (????) suppresses them (?????). However, “???” and its intensity depends on the strength of doer’s (????) mind or his mental force. There are scientific evidence that a highly developed mental force works on others minds from far away and it duly works on some nonliving things as well in typical case of the strongest mental vibes of doer (????). Modern telepathy is one of its example. This state of mind can be achieved either by self- hypnosis or it is done by expert hypnotist, who controls one’s mind using different techniques and can put any suggestion any message or any direction into the depth of unconscious mind, which becomes reality on the subject of hypnosis. This is a proper neuroscience, which is currently used to quit smoking, pain relief and weight reductions etc. The Quran has used this word “???” in the same scientific way in which it affects the brain of the subject/s (?????) and brings it into the reality in front of the subject/s of “???” suggested by its expert operator, who is called “????” in the Quran.

Professional hypnotherapists work throughout the world and hypnotherapy is gradually replacing the traditional anesthesia, which is used to control pain before, during and after surgery. So, the expert of “???” do work in some reputable western hospitals and health centers, and health authorities are looking forward to abandoning the drug administered procedure of anesthesia used in post and pre surgical operations in world class hospitals and healthcare services.

Here I am presenting the word to word analysis and correct translation of the verse 20:96 of the Quran in which the same procedure of administering “???” has been quoted in the statement of “????” Al-Samiri to make us understand how he has brought the sound from the Golden Calf which was not real but falsely administered by his “???”.

“????? ???????? ????? ???? ?????????? ???? ?????????? ???????? ????? ?????? ?????????? ????????????? ?????????? ????????? ??? ???????” (20:96)

“?????” said, stated. “????????” I saw/I observed/I conceived/I understood. “?????” inclusive, whatever. “????” not, not yet. “??????????” is the present verb in passive voice which contains the pronoun “??” of other people to mean ‘them’. So, “???? ??????????” correctly means “not understood by them”. “????” with it/by it/ thereby, by there/there with/about it. “??????????” then I actually grabbed/detained/captured/ took/ constrained/caught/got. “????????” is a noun to mean: domination/control/ possession. “?????” is a preposition to mean “from”. “??????” means: influence, influential force, impress, have or to produce influence, affect, impact, effect and application. This word “??????” is the same which is also used to define someone who seems haunted or possessed by ghost or finds under the influence of paranormal activities or under the effect of so called magic or witchcrafts etc.

The word “??????????” is merely important to correctly understand the statement of this verse. As I have been reiterating in my numerous articles that the Quranic word “???????” does not mean Prophet or any human but in fact “???????” is the ‘sent message’ derived from the Arabic verb “??????” which was made passive by adding “?” between the letters “?” and “?” of the same verb “??????”. So, this word “??????????” is also coming in this verse 20:96 with the definite article “??” in its true meaning to mean “sent message”, “sent suggestion” and “sent direction”. Therefore, the words “????? ?????? ??????????” correctly means: from the influential force of sent message/sent suggestion/sent direction. This message was not Allah’s message but was the message, suggestion or direction sent by “????” Al-Samiri to influence people and grabbed their control (?????????? ????????) in the same way as today’s professional hypnotists send their message, suggestion or direction to people and hypnotize them. We must remember the fact that the Quran uses Arabic words for their linguistic functions to describe its statements for plain understanding in simple words so that everyone can understand Allah’s message correctly. Terminologies and metaphors are post revelation and post Prophet (pbuh) concepts which are not recognised by simple and straightforward Quran.

The next phrase “?????????????”means then I actually centrifuged them/ then I renounced them/ then I abjured them/ then I retracted them /then I surrendered them/then I intruded them/ then I wrenched them. The pronoun “???” at the end of “?????????????” refers to people (all male and female). Therefore according to the ‘agreement rules’ of Arabic grammar the pronoun “???” has been used as a third person plural pronoun to mean ‘their/them’ for all men and women together. The next phrase “??????????” means: and that way/and like that. The word “?????????” means ‘seduced’, ‘allured’, ‘hawked’, ‘nicked’, ‘cadged’, ‘acquired’, ‘peddled’. The word “???”means bending, kinking, buckling, twisting, twining, hampering, tying up, doubling, folding and wrenching. Those ignorant who take this “???” to mean ‘for me’ or ‘to me’ because of the letter “?” they should realize that letter “?” is already coming in the next word “???????”. Therefore, according to the correct linguistic rules letter “?” cannot be taken twice as a first person singular objective pronoun next to each other. Hence, according to the linguistic rules the word “???” has been used as an independent word in its own root meanings. And the suffix “?” in the next letter “???????” has been use as a first person singular objective pronoun to mean “my” and “?????”means: psychic, spirit, mind, mental power and psychogenic. So, this phrase “???????” correctly means: my psychic, my spirit, my mind, my mental power and my psychogenic.

Now, you can 100% correctly translate this verse 20:96 with the help of the above word to word analysis.

Please compare, with the above Arabic words, the following misleading samples of mainstream translations of the same verse 20:96:

“He replied: "I saw what they saw not: so I took a handful (of dust) from the footprint of the Messenger, and threw it (into the calf): thus did my soul suggest to me." (Yousuf Ali)

“He said: I perceived what they perceive not, so I seized a handful from the footsteps of the messenger, and then threw it in. Thus my soul commended to me” (pickthal)

“He said, I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me.” (Saheeh)

“He said: "I noticed what they did not notice, so I took a handful from where the messenger was standing, and I cast it in. This is what my soul inspired me to do” (Free Minds)

“He answered: "I have gained insight into something which they were unable to see:" and so I took hold of a handful of the Apostle's teachings and cast it away: for thus has my mind prompted me [to act]” (Asad)

“He said, "I saw what they could not see. I grabbed a fistful (of dust) from the place where the messenger stood, and used it (to mix into the golden calf). This is what my mind inspired me to do" (Khalifa)

He answered, "I have gained insight into something which they have not. So I took hold of a handful of the Messenger's teachings and cast it away. This is what my mind prompted me to do." (Quran Expert Shabbir Ahmed)

Rest of the traditional and Quran only scholars have invented the similar packs of lies in their interpretation of the above verse 20:96. This is because the words revealed in the Arabic text of this verse 20:96 were not important for them in front of their false beliefs, which they have inserted in their fake translations. Perhaps they have tried to rectify Allah’s mistake, Who did not say what our scholars have invented by themselves on behalf of Allah.

 When I wrote a very first research article on “????????” and validated with piles of linguistic evidence that “????????” is not a Prophet or human, many traditional and Quran-only fellows raised objections against my findings. Traditional fellows showed their anger without quoting any credible reference from the Quran and the Quran-only readers did not accept it on the basis of their self-invented way of reading the Quran, the so called “????? ????” (taking cross reference to fit Quranic words from one verse to another). One of the Quran-only readers found it closed to the beliefs of his sect as the Quran-only sect don’t rely on the traditional Hadith and use false tactics in translating the Quranic words “?????????? ?????? ???????????? ??????????” to mean “Follow Allah by means of or through Rasool” and their ‘Rasool’ is Prophet and Prophet is their Rasool. Anyway, his senses were accepting the truth that ‘Rasool’ is not a human but he was adamant like his Quran-only fellows who always believe that they know Quran better than anyone else. So, first he shared my article on ‘Free Minds’ forum to get opinions from those who are not experts the Quran. Then he told me that people’s comments are not coming positive about my Arabic, which is not new to me as when I hit people’s false beliefs with the words of the Quran they have nothing better to say than things such as I don’t know Arabic at all and Quranic Arabic is different, which their scholars only know. Despite all the negative comments the mind of this Quran-only brother was still compelling him towards the correct meaning of the Quranic word “???????” mentioned in my article and till the last contact he decided to put all verses containing the word “???????” on a spread sheet and compare all of them using, in a modern style, the same technique of “?????” invented by his scholars. I requested him for sharing the outcome of his adventure of understanding the Quran but so far I did not hear anything from him. However, I am happy that he has shared my article with others on ‘Free Minds’ forum and I hope that he will eventually understand the truth and come back to the actual words of the Quran, Insha Allah. 

Anyhow, in the translations of the above verse 20:96 no traditional scholars took this word “??????????” for a ‘human being’ but hand full Quranist scholars certainly took this “??????????” to mean Prophet just to keep up their personal dogma. 

Have you seen the absurd translation of Quran Expert Shabbir Ahmed “took hold of a handful of the Messenger's teachings and cast it away”? He invented the above stated lie from the words of the above verse 20:96 “?????????? ???????? ????? ?????? ?????????? ?????????????”, which is the statement of “????” Samiri, who is known as the creator of the Golden Calf. He was the man who tempted the Israelites to forsake the worship of Allah while Musa (pbuh) was away for 40 days on Mount Sinai.

However, it is not clear in the translation of Quran expert Shabbir Ahmed and his Quranist fellows what was cast away by “????” Samiri from the handful teaching of the Prophet (as messenger is a prophet in Quranists’ belief), is the phrase ‘cast away’ used in their translation to mean thrown out, discarded or destroyed the Golden Calf or casted or created the Golden Calf to forsake the worship of Allah? If “????” Samiri ‘casts away’ to mean thrown away the Golden Calf it means he did what Prophet Musa’s brother Prophet Haroon (pbum) could not do being a Prophet and if Samiri casted to mean created the Golden Calf with the handful teaching of the Prophet then this is not the teaching of any Prophet to cast the idols and worship them nor did Allah teach this to any Prophets. Furthermore, which Prophet was mentioned by Quran expert Shabbie Ahmed and the founder of the Quranist Sect Mr. G.A Parwez? As Mr. G.A. Parwez also interpreted this verse 20:96 in the similar style in Urdu on page 718-719 of his book Mafhoom ul Quran, the correct English translation of which is as under:

“He said when I came here to your nation I figured out what could not come in their area of imagination. I did not adopt your prophethood message fully. I took only small portion from it and for sake of my own purposes I entered among your followers. Taking the advantage of your absence my heart offered this plan in front of me which seems to me very charming. So, even the small portion of your teaching, which I had adopted, separated and brought your nation back to idolism” (English translation of interpretation of the verse 20:96 given by G.A. Parwez on page 718-719 in Mafhoom ul Quran)

Here is the Arabic text of this verse 20:96 which does not match with the above tale of lies:

“????? ???????? ????? ???? ?????????? ???? ?????????? ???????? ????? ?????? ?????????? ????????????? ?????????? ????????? ??? ???????” (20:96)

Also, Tahir Al Qadri, Ahmed Raza Khan Brailwi, Shabbir Ahmad, Fateh Muhammad Jalandhry and many more traditional scholars translated “??????????”, in this verse 20:96, to mean an Angel. Whereas, the Quran uses the word “????” and “?????????????” for angels. Also the rest of the traditional scholars who used the word “??????????” or Messenger in their translations of this verse 20:96 they have explained in their exegesis that this “??????????” means an exalted Angel. So, all traditional scholars took “??????????” to mean a non-human species in this verse 20:96. 

Furthermore, where are the words, in Arabic text of this verse 20:96, to mean: handful of ‘dust’ and from the ‘track’ of the messenger’ or ‘where Messenger stood’ or ‘under the feet of Messenger’???

The strange this is that one party of the deviated scholars is saying ‘handful of dust’ and the other is saying “handful of teaching”. Whereas, there is no word of “dust” or “teaching” is a part of the Arabic text of this verse 20:96 but both groups of infidels made it clear that there is no difference between “teaching” and “dust”.

Hence, both the Quranists and the traditional scholars invented lies in the translation of this verse 20:9, with the difference of their infidel opinions, in which Traditional scholars believe in sorcery and opposite to them the Quranists don’t believe in any witchcraft or magic.

However, the Arabic words of the revealed text of this verse 20:96:

“????? ???????? ????? ???? ?????????? ???? ?????????? ???????? ????? ?????? ?????????? ????????????? ?????????? ????????? ??? ???????” are clearly explaining the procedure of controlling or overcoming someone’s mind, someone’s spirit or someone’s drive force or someone’s consciousness by sending suggestions, adopted by “????” Samiri to show the Golden Calf live to the people of Prophet Moses (pbuh) by controlling their minds. This is all related to sorcery, witchcraft or magic in which other person’s mind is controlled. This is quite common among Saints and Sufis of so many religions in which they increase their own power of mind or power of their spirit or their drive force by extensive practice of concentration on a marked point and when they acquired this power of concentration in their own spirit they make things working in front of others by controlling their spirit or mind which is comparatively weaker than those who regularly practice mind concentration. That’s why the practitioners of mind exercise can easily control the weak mind of common people and can make them their mental slave. This is a proper science which is also used in today’s modern time by qualified hypnotherapists.

However, the word “??????????” used in this verse is in its correct meaning of the ‘sent message’, which obviously means the ‘suggestion or direction sent’ by operator of sorcery technique (????) to the minds of their subject (?????). The letter “?” between “?” and “?” of the verb “??????” makes it passive and the definite article “??” is making it a ‘special sent message’. Therefore, the word “??????????” is within its core meaning of ‘sent message’. The terminologies of Quranic words to mean so and so has been invented quite after the revelation of the Quran and even centuries after the death of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Therefore, these manmade terminologies such as “????????” to mean a Prophet or Messenger has no meaning as the Quran takes all of its words in a general linguistic style in which the same word and its derivatives are used with so many things and denote their numerous actions such as verbs, nouns and adjectives etc. Except Allah’s titles Quran does not specify any word for any specific meaning or for any specific terminology or metaphor. This is all post revelation and post Prophet (pbuh) invention which has nothing to do with the understanding of the statements of Quran in which words have been used for their general use, such as the derivatives of “????” have been used to follow Allah, to have link and connection with someone or something as the door hinges are called “???” to link door with the frame. Likewise, the same word “????” has been used in the Quran to mean to persuade or submit the idols and the derivatives of the same word “????” have been used in the Quran for husband and wife’s relationship when they are get together or getting together with the Prophet (pbuh) or others. Therefore, we cannot make a rule that the word “????” and its derivatives always and everywhere means ‘Prayer’, which is a terminology of post revelation and post Prophet (pbuh) time that cannot be used to translate the Quran correctly and with its true spirit. Likewise, the word “????????” is not used in the Quran to mean a specific terminology but as a linguistic word with its linguistic meaning, which can be used with anything and in any statement.

Therefore, the verse 20:96 is describing the science of hypnotherapy and its practice. If we believe that the Quran cannot describe this then in the other words we are saying that the Quran is not complete, which is against the statements of the Quran that it is a complete book of God and there is nothing left which is not explained in the Quran, especially when we see practical use of hypnotherapy in today’s modern healthcare institutions and hospitals where this ‘message sent’ therapy is successfully used as a pain killer, as an anesthetic, and in the narcotics quitting treatments and weight loss management together with the treatment of depression and mind counselling.  

The purpose of this verse 20:96 is not to teach sorcery or testify it as right or wrong but to clear the doubts of those who saw the Golden Calf making sound and started to worship it thinking that God was speaking in it. Without the statement of the “????” Samiri in which he explained what he did, it was not possible to clear the doubts as to how the people were hearing the sound coming from the Golden Calf. The so called magician’s statement was therefore necessary to provide reasoning to clear people’s doubts. So, when Prophet Moses (pbuh) returned he grabbed the “????” Samiri and asked him to explain what he had done since “????” Samiri was the one who made the Golden Calf and started its worship amongst the nation of Prophet Moses (pbuh)
