At first glance, hosting a pickleball tournament may seem like a fantastic idea. After all, it offers the promise of bringing together community members for a day of sport, socializing, and philanthropy. However, upon closer inspection, nonprofits may find themselves faced with a harsh reality: a lot of work for little return. The focus on large-scale events like pickleball tournaments can detract from other, more fruitful fundraising avenues. In a time where everyone is stretched thin… What if you spent more time cultivating individual donors and fostering ongoing relationships with supporters? ?????? I just drafted and launched my first #landingpage at Daffy ?? Being at a #startup means I am constantly learning new skills, so here are 4 things I learned during this project that anyone building a landing page can apply: 1. Start with a Clear Goal: The foundation of any good landing page is a well-defined target audience and clear goals. For us, it was crucial to demonstrate the primary use cases of Daffy Campaigns, while showcasing how easy it is to set up a campaign and utilize unique features like matching donations, multi-charity support, and low fees. Our messaging aimed to resonate with both current and potential members interested in fundraising as well as nonprofit organizations looking to leverage matching campaigns for their top donors or host their own fundraiser on Daffy. 2. Craft a Compelling Hero Section: The hero of your landing page is prime real estate – it's the first impression visitors get. We explored various options but ultimately landed on a rotating carousel with high-quality images. This simple, but impactful format grabs attention and more importantly, connects back to our goal of demonstrating how our members are using Daffy Campaigns. 3. Overcoming Writer’s Block: Writer’s block happens to all of us. What’s always worked for me is taking a break and coming back to it later with fresh eyes. In the meantime, research other landing pages for inspiration, but remember, the goal is to differentiate yourself. What works for others, may not necessarily work for you. Focus on what makes you unique! 4. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Building a successful landing page requires teamwork, so be sure to lean on your team for feedback, support, and inspiration.
