Position: CNC Machinist/Programmer Location: Jackson Township, NJ Job Type: Full-time, Onsite Job Description: We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our team at our modern, air-conditioned facility located on the Jackson/Lakehurst border. Our company specializes in high-quality precision machining for various industries. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and is interested in a long-term opportunity. Key Responsibilities: Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate Fanuc-based vertical milling machines, including late-model Doosan, Kitamura, and Toyoda machining centers. Programming: Use Gibbs Cam for programming and setting up machines to produce high-precision components. Tolerances: Ensure tight tolerances are maintained throughout the machining process. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment as needed. Requirements: Experience: Proven experience in a machine shop environment is required. Skills: Proficiency with CNC machine setup and operation. Familiarity with Gibbs Cam or similar CAD/CAM software is a plus. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for an eight-hour shift and lift up to 40 pounds. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. ?? Essential Skills for CNC Machinists in 2024 ?? In the ever-evolving world of manufacturing, the role of a CNC machinist remains pivotal. From my experience, here are the most crucial skills every CNC machinist should master: Firstly, technical proficiency is non-negotiable. Expertise in operating CNC machines, understanding machine tools, and interpreting blueprints is fundamental. Without this, producing high-quality components becomes a challenge. Precision and attention to detail are equally critical. The ability to produce accurate parts and maintain tight tolerances ensures the final product meets exact specifications. Problem-solving skills are also paramount. Troubleshooting machine issues and resolving production problems quickly can save valuable time and resources. Coupled with this, strong math and measurement skills are essential. Competence in geometry, trigonometry, and using precision measurement tools allows for precise machining operations. Programming knowledge is another key area. Understanding G-code, M-code, and CNC programming to set up and modify machine operations is vital for efficient production. Mechanical aptitude, including a strong grasp of machining processes and machine maintenance, ensures smooth operations and longevity of the equipment. Lastly, safety awareness and time management cannot be overlooked. Knowledge of workplace safety standards and proper machine handling protects both the machinist and the equipment.
