We're excited to introduce you to the talented Pilots who make up our team at BeCA This week, we'd like to introduce you to FO Yannick Honnoré: Hi all, My name is Yannick Honnoré, I am 25 years old and since September 2018 I’m flying for a Belgian cargo company, as a first Officer. I started my commercial flying career on the B737 and since 1.5 years now, I fly the majestic B747. ? The reason why I joined BeCA was initially to follow in the footsteps of my father but after a while I noticed what the association really stands for: being a association for pilots, by pilots. Because let’s admit it, who knows best what a pilot really needs than a pilot himself-/herself? And rest assured, there are multiple projects that BeCA is working on, although often on the background. Therefore I want to contribute to this cause, to keep the beautiful job as a pilot as beautiful as possible.? The job with its flexible hours, technical issues etc is already difficult enough that pilots shouldn’t constantly be fighting themselves to keep acceptable, and especially safe, working-conditions. ? As one of my most-used sentences is: ??Communicaton is key?? so it’s quite self-explanantory that I specifically joined the BeCA-communication team. So in the near future you will probably hear from my colleagues and I about some projects the association is working on. ? I also strongly believe that every opinion is important, coming from pilots close to their retirement as also the ones just starting their career, I do think that it can be beneficial to also have new younger (active) members in the association so that everybody can find someone to relate to and that we can approach the issues from different perspectives. #BeCA?#belgianpilot

In this video I briefly touch on my life changing experience when I visited 42 states on my gap year. That's when I learned that climate innovation isn't just the future of our planet, it needs to be the future of an equitable economy. Some thoughts on the eve of the plenary meeting of EMF-ECBC Residential real estate holds a significant position as both the world’s largest asset class and most families’ single largest financial investment. At the same time, the impact of buildings on CO2 emissions is significant. An interesting evolution is the burgeoning interest from the capital market in taxonomy-compliant assets. The rapid development of green bonds is promising, yet it faces a bottleneck due to the scarcity of compliant assets. Residential buildings represent the largest investment volume, but this market is fragmented, consisting of many small volumes dependent on individual decisions. In Belgium, for instance, the majority of the homes require renovations. Investors cannot afford to continue funding properties that lack energy efficiency. To avoid investing in potential stranded assets, financiers need assurance that these homes will undergo renovations. This transition to sustainable housing presents a significant challenge, yet it also offers an immense opportunity for lenders and investors. Local ecosystems play a pivotal role, acting as a bridge between individual homeowners and the financial market. Collaboration within these ecosystems is essential. Lenders, energy consultants, architects, and contractors are all part of this ecosystem. Together, they can not only persuade homeowners to commit to deep renovations but also provide integrated solutions. Money alone won’t drive change, nor will plans without financial backing. It’s the synergy of both that’s required. Governments also have a crucial role in empowering this transition with sufficient impact. The time is ripe for forging creative collaborations. It’s only through such partnerships that we can ensure the success of this transition. My involvement in the pilot association has been invaluable. It has enabled me to meet colleagues from various companies and develop collective intelligence on issues common to our profession. Working together on high-quality issues and seeing the concrete results of our efforts is immensely satisfying and the main reason for my active involvement in our association. My involvement in BeCA is a source of deep satisfaction and complements my role as a pilots' representative within the company, which is often more frustrating. Some of the highlights of my time with BeCA include: - The elimination of offshore pilots, an initiative that has profoundly transformed the sector. - Pension reform, with transitional measures that are as fair as possible. - Determined action with the European Parliament on European flight times. - The establishment of the Belgian Just Culture platform. These achievements testify to the importance of our collective work and its positive impact on our profession. A strategy of carefully preparing dossiers and targeting suitable bodies has proved its effectiveness and will continue to do so on key issues for pilots. I like to share this experience with those who prefer constructive action to inactivity, or even complaining, and continue to move our profession forward in the face of new needs and challenges. #BeCA #belgianpilot
