Project JOLT (Joint Operator Logistics Trial) is led by Centre for Sustainable Road Freight (SRF) and partners with Volvo Trucks UK and Flexible Power Systems - specialising in fleet management optimisation software, and provides access to a shared fleet of electric vehicles and mobile chargers. Ensuring a smooth transition to electrification is a multi-faceted and onerous challenge: data driven insights are key to ensuring the confidence for companies involved in logistics to begin or continue their journey towards Net Zero. Over a 3 month trial period, high resolution operational data, including vehicle and charger performance, operational efficiency and costs, will be collected during each trial period and then analysed and anonymised. Project Jolt provides the opportunity to develop the knowledge and models needed to de-risk electric freight and inform investment decisions. Researching and trialing solutions that are both economically viable and sustainable is critical if they are to be adopted at the scale needed to effect real change. This is why, as an industry, we need to experiment with new technologies to help try and achieve a more sustainable future. ?? The Completion of the eHaul Project – A Revolutionary Step in Battery Swapping for eLKW! ?? As the eHaul project concludes, I am honored on being part of this initiative. This project brought to life Europe's first battery-swapping station prototype for electric trucks, paving the way for a more sustainable and efficient logistics future. Key insights from the project: ?? Decreased downtime for eLKW, ensuring smoother operations. ?? Lower operational costs, making eLKW a viable alternative to diesel. ?? Reduced emissions, contributing to greener supply chains. ?? Grid services Potential, offering ways to integrate battery storage with energy management. I want to express my gratitude to our partners (Fraunhofer IVI, @IBAR Systemtechnik GmbH Bosch UNITAX-Pharmalogistik Urban Energy and @Reinert Reinert Logistics) and my colleagues at Technische Universit?t Berlin who made this project possible. A special thanks to Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Stefanie Marke and Jens Jerratsch for this opportunity and their guidance throughout the project. We hosted colleagues from Daimler Truck AG our E-mobility Laboratory at Ekoenergetyka's headquarters. ?? and tested communication and the entire charging process according to ?????? ?????????? standards, including ???????? & ????????????. The ???????????????????? tractor traveled some nearly 750 km on a single charge from Zielona Góra (Poland) to Stuttgart. It is said that the tractor can travel up to 1,000 kilometers without loading, Is this the very future of long-haul distance transportation?
