Is the Guinness shortage true? According to a pub owner I just spoke to, the answer is yes. They are only receiving one barrel per week. The question is now, are they purposely limiting the supply to pubs as a brilliant marketing tactic of scarcity to increase the perceived value of the pint once the so-called ‘shortages’ are sorted out? At first, things were going smoothly. Filmmaker Nate Kresge said he was receiving grants through a little-known state program to promote Pennsylvania’s beer industry. The money went toward a documentary and, later, a series called Poured in PA that showcased everyone from local brewmasters to the local artists who created the labels on beer cans. “Our lives will never be the same without Paul.” The owner of Ginsters has been fined over ￡1 million after an employee was killed by a lorry at its bakery in Cornwall. Paul Clarke was fatally crushed by the vehicle as it reversed into a loading bay at The Cornwall Bakery, where Ginsters pasties are made. The 40-year-old, as captured in the CCTV footage here, had been moving strip curtains before being struck. Our investigation found Samworth Brothers had not implemented a safe system of work to ensure the strip curtains were moved out of the way when lorries reversed into the loading bay. Paul’s family now no longer celebrate Christmas as “it is just not the same” without him, his mother revealed in a statement. These incidents occur when workers are hit by moving vehicles, especially during reversing or being within the blind spot area of the vehicle's operator. We can control the risk of such accidents by simple steps as to properly plan the site layout and a strict site traffic management system as well as installing visual aids to cover the blind spots of the operator especially during reversing.
