I sent a candidate a job offer, but then I withdrew it. Here's why: In one of the organizations, I served as the recruiter for a mid-career position The hiring manager was impressed with the candidate's profile and we extended a job offer Unfortunately, shortly after we learned that the company had to undergo a restructuring process Given these unforeseen circumstances, The company had to make the tough decision to withdraw the offer I called the finalist and communicated the decision, leading to an emotional reaction on the candidate's part It's essential to note that the withdrawal wasn't related to the candidate's qualifications Takeaways: 1- Never celebrate a job offer until you've officially passed the start date. 2- Don't turn down job interviews, even if you have a current offer. 3- Keep your options open and stay adaptable in the ever-changing professional landscape. Do you think it was fair to withdraw the candidate's job offer? - Repost to raise awareness and STOP companies engaging in such practices with candidates -

Why Was My Job Offer Rescinded After Promising Interviews? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gJqFzM5G #JobSearchStruggles #CareerJourney #JobMarketChallenges Hey everyone! I just wanted to share something that's been really tough for me lately. I graduated in May and since then, I’ve been on a relentless job hunt, applying to thousands of positions. ???? Just when I thought I had a break, I received a verbal offer for an entry-level role. ?? It wasn’t the best salary, especially in the Bay Area, but honestly, I was just relieved to have any offer at all. However, after waiting for 10 days with bated breath for that official offer letter, I got a call. They told me the leadership team didn’t approve the offer after all. ?? No clear reason was given, and this was after I had positive feedback from all my interviews, including one with the director! Here’s what I’m feeling: Confusion: How could it go from a verbal offer to a complete withdrawal without a solid explanation? Disappointment: This was my only hope in such a competitive job market. Frustration: It feels like I’ve put in so much effort for nothing. ?? It makes you wonder about the job market and the dynamics behind...

Job candidates want more than just a position. They want an experience. And it all begins in the interview room, where how they're treated and how they feel matters most. James (J.D.) Conway talks about how client relationships are crucial. The candidate’s interview experience is paramount. Some even sacrifice better pay because relationships matter that much. One approach to be more welcoming is adopting an open-house style for the hiring process. What's an open house? It differs from a job fair. It's where candidates visit your company to experience the work environment firsthand! How remarkable is that concept?! It's an authentic experience requiring time and planning, yet it's invaluable in finding the ideal match. How do you think employers can actively promote sincerity and an open-minded atmosphere in each interview? #recruitinghappy #recruitingagency #recruiters #hiringprocess

It can be incredibly disheartening to navigate the job hunt process in today’s market . The expectation to endure 3-5 interviews, only to be met with silence (“ghosted”) or, even worse, to invest time into multiple job portals, rewriting your Curriculum Vitae over and over again in their sites, making sure we understand they won’t even open our CV’s.. it can feel like an endless cycle with little to no reward. Many believe that the younger generation lacks the motivation to work, yet despite our best efforts to find suitable positions, we often find our applications overlooked. It’s a challenging landscape, and it’s essential to keep pushing forward in the face of these undefined obstacles. Not losing our hope.

Don’t stop interviewing until the job is yours.. During my discussion with one of job-seeker, as a part of my pro-bono initiative to contribute community, I came to know she decline to interview for potential role, as she received verbal offer from HR. You may be deep into the process—five rounds in—and feeling confident about securing the role. HR might have collected all your details and assured you an offer by next Monday. Perhaps a former manager has even guaranteed a position for you. But things can still fall through. Until you have a signed offer in hand, keep exploring every interview opportunity that comes your way. Period. #jobsearch #offer
