??Welcome to Episode 73 of the Emotional Eats Podcast!?? I had the pleasure of speaking with Joe Hoye, founder of Hoye Fit , about his unique decision as a young man to focus on helping women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. ??He helps midlife women get fit, lose weight, and improve their longevity. Joe shared his heartfelt and personal story, which began when his mother took him to the gym at 13, helping him discover his passion for fitness. ??As women caught up in the diet culture craziness, you will appreciate Joe’s “diet detox” approach, which encourages women to move away from restrictive diets and into a thriving, empowered relationship with food. We talk about why strength training is crucial for women over 40, how cardio can often lead to muscle loss, and how important it is to focus on fat loss rather than just weight loss. One of my favorite topics that Joe discusses is the role of mindset in midlife health, sharing that success starts in the mind and that overcoming the mental barriers to health is just as important as the physical aspects. Joe’s approach is all about empowering women to stop dieting and start thriving, providing practical advice on increasing calories in a healthy way, strength training, and debunking common diet myths. ????IMPORTANT! Listen to the end. Joe makes a very generous offer to one lucky listener. You’ll want to tune in to have a chance to win. Check the show notes for Joe’s links. ??This episode is a must-listen for any woman looking to improve her health, break free from diet culture, and build a lifestyle that supports long-term wellness. Where do our loved ones go after they die? Enjoy this interview with popular guest Mariel Forde Clarke in this encore episode of the Radiate Wellness Podcast. Listen on the MindBodySpirit.fm app, #PandoraPodcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This week on the Radiate Wellness Podcast, we present an encore episode: Radiate Love and Hope with Mariel Forde Clarke, originally published 2/22/22. Where do our loved ones go after they die? This is the question that has traversed the universe for centuries and is considered one of life's greatest mysteries. While many of the world's renowned philosophers, scientists, theorists, doctors, and great mystics endorsed the existence of the afterlife, no one book has been available to explore it all, until now. Mariel Forde Clarke, author of the book Where After: Where Do Our Loved Ones Go After They Die?, asserts that whether you believe in God or heaven, you can be comforted by the sense that an afterlife exists beyond the realm of one's physical comprehension. Drawing on the findings of patients who have had near- death experiences and visions and on those of renowned scientists and doctors, Clarke helps the reader chart the journey of the soul and navigate their grief. Since her own near-death experience in 1992, Mariel has dedicated her life to exploring the mystery of life and death. She has studied many cultures where the afterlife is considered our true home. From the various research gleaned, she now understands that a belief in an afterlife determines and impacts on how one grieves. Anecdotal evidence from many of her workshops showed a prevailing common theme. Participants who believe in an afterlife manage their grieving process in a healthier and more integrative way. For others, the afterlife is of no concern, with death being the cessation of all life and communication. Find Mariel online at marielfordeclarke.com. Find her book wherever books are sold. Have you been avoiding mirrors lately—or feeling startled when you catch your reflection? Maybe your grip strength isn’t what it used to be, or it’s taking way longer to recover from a workout. If you’re feeling frustrated, invisible, or just confused by how your body is changing, you’re not alone. Here’s what no one talks about: the body image struggles of midlife aren’t just about weight. It’s about catching your mother’s reflection in the mirror. It’s needing reading glasses just to see a menu. It’s realizing your body reacts differently now—to food, stress, exercise, and even sleep. In episode 204 of the podcast, I’m talking about what’s really happening to our bodies in midlife. This isn’t another “love your wrinkles” conversation. It’s about understanding why these changes feel so personal, so hard, and sometimes even like a betrayal. And here’s the thing: Did you know midlife women weren’t always sidelined or made to feel irrelevant? There’s a fascinating history behind this—and it has nothing to do with our value but everything to do with power that was taken from us generations ago. In this episode, I’m sharing: * My own struggles with these changes (and why I’ve resisted them). * Stories from clients who’ve found a new way to navigate this season of life. * Why fighting these changes makes everything harder—and what to do instead. If you’ve been frustrated with how your body is changing, feeling less visible, or just tired of fighting against aging, this episode is for you. Whether you’re just starting to notice these shifts or you’re deep in them, this conversation will help you reframe what it means to be in midlife. Listen now to Total Health in Midlife wherever you get your podcasts. Let’s rewrite the story of what it means to be a woman in midlife—together. Available wherever you catch your podcasts

One of my favourite media people in Australia, Casey Beros (if you don't already know her, check her out!), chatted with my PR client Nick Engerer on her NEXT OF KIN podcast. Two great minds with a passion for health! Casey describes the episode below, which you can jump into here https://lnkd.in/gk55XGmz Cast your mind forward, right to the end of your life. Are you: A. Riddled with disease, dependent on minimum wage workers at the local care facility (which you’ve paid for with your house, super and pension) eating Deb mashed potato out of a tray… or; B. Gorgeously wrinkled, surrounded by loving kids and grandkids you can still lift on your shoulders and hitting Nando’s with your mates from Mahjong. If you chose option A, you’re in luck. That’s the way most of us will go. But if you’re in camp B - you’ll want to tune into today’s episode of Next Of Kin. In it, biohacker and longevity strategist Nick Engerer and I discuss how to increase not just our lifespan but our healthspan (read: more yay, less tray), and the fact that we’re spending a whole lot of our hard-earned cash on staying healthy and well. In fact, Forbes reckons the global health and wellness market is estimated to grow to a staggering US$13 trillion by 2031. So my question is, with a booming wellness market… why aren’t we more well? Most people go straight to spending money to make changes. You’ve got the right motivation - you want to be healthier, you want to live longer, you want to make a change - great! But that change is not made by purchasing something. That’s the biggest mistake people make. Nick Engerer So if, like me, you want to age as gracefully as an elderly ballerina - with skin that looks perpetually pulled into a bun and enough upper body strength to haul your own suitcase on your frequent travels - you’re in for a treat. Oh, and all those skincare products you keep After Pay-ing? You might wanna rethink those.
