YoungTech would like to give a special shoutout to our incredible panelists Katherine Sizov, David Alspaugh, and Jake Armenta for our DeepTech Innovators event yesterday evening!?With a fantastic turnout, we had the pleasure of diving deep into Seattle's DeepTech scene. Katherine, CEO & Founder of Strella, wowed us with the shocking reality of food waste and shared her inspiring journey of tackling real-world problems through biotech innovation. David, CTO & Co-Founder of Inductive Robotics, recounted his personal experience in starting a company, highlighting the importance of resilience and perseverance in the entrepreneurial journey. Jake, CTO & Co-Founder of Outbound Aerospace, a lifelong airplane enthusiast, shared his passion for aviation and how his lifelong passion has merged into his career. Key takeaways from our panelists included: ??Timing is Key:?Deeply understand your customers, embrace automation, and integrate sustainability later - hardware requires much more planning than software. ??Build a Business:?Don't develop a business model off on sustainability, create a business model that enables you to be sustainable. ??Go For It:?Life is short, and the greatest regret on your deathbed will be not trying the things you wanted to. ??Consistency:?Entrepreneurship comes with significant highs and lows; staying consistent is vital. ??Industry Insights:?Seek insights from those actively working in the field to understand the real challenges and opportunities. ??Be Need Focused: Don’t force an idea into an industry; instead, identify industry needs and build your business around impactful solutions. A big thank you to Katherine, David, and Jake for giving us their evening, and sharing their incredible journey in Seattle's Deep Tech environment! Thank you to 9Zero Climate Innovation Hub for their partnership on this event. As always, a special shoutout to our sponsor Fenwick & West & Stifel Bank for continual support, and for the YoungTech members who attended!

2 周really loved Katherine's perspective on food. reframed food for me, to see it as living organisms worthy of great dignity. agreed that i don't want my generation to go down as the one that knowingly wasted such a precious resource! Jake was absolutely on one! lol when he said, "yeah, I can build a better plane then Boeing!" then he went and started doing it. talk about bias for action! love the bottom up approach, super disruptive! wish I could have stayed for the whole event! will follow up with folks individually. thanks to all who made this happen!! ??
