The Global Youth Statement (GYS) is a combined idea and call-to-action document from young people worldwide, encouraging global leaders to take bold steps toward addressing the climate crisis. This document is shaped by the unified voices of climate-conscious youth, gathered through LCOYs and RCOYs. It presents a set of major policy demands, covering areas such as climate finance, energy, loss and damage, and climate justice. The statement advocates for an inclusive and equitable approach to climate governance, recognizing the excessive impact of the crisis on our communities and the need for radical, systemic change. #SDG7 has always been a priority for the #OPECFund and its importance was elevated with the adoption of our Climate Action Plan in September 2022. The plan sets the ambitious target of dedicating 25 percent of all new financing to climate action by 2025 and 40 percent by 2030. We are proud to be exceeding the target with #climatefinance representing around 30% of total approvals.
