I'm excited to be presenting at this year's Minnesota Gift Planning Association's annual conference. "Would You Follow You?" gives participants the opportunity to focus on followers and how they, as leaders and teammates, can better provide for their followers using the “4 basic needs of a follower” and “identifying each person’s one big thing.” Using the 4 basic needs of a follower – trust, hope, compassion, and stability – coupled with “each person’s one big thing” participants explore where there are roadblocks to providing the 4 basic needs. I like to ask myself, "Were you a good enough leader today to follow yourself?" Somedays the answer is yes, and some days the answer is no. I don't profess to know the ins and outs of every organization's DEI strategy, but I do see that we seem to be struggling with ACTUALIZING the values that we are adopting.
