As I witness disheartening actions and rhetoric against the LGBTQ+ community, it is more critical than ever to stand united in support of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Discrimination against LGBTQ+ individuals doesn’t just harm individuals—it also creates significant barriers to accessing equitable and affirming healthcare. Health outcomes improve when people feel seen, respected, and valued. Policies and actions targeting LGBTQ+ rights negatively impact mental health, discourage people from seeking care, and deepen existing health disparities. I remain committed to providing safe, inclusive, and affirming care for all. Let’s use our voices, platforms, and actions to ensure that every individual can access the care they deserve, free from stigma or discrimination. ???We asked Daniel, from Uzor about how the organization is tailoring its approach to be more inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community: ‘‘To become more inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community, we, at Uzor, have refined our intake process. When a person approaches us for help, instead of assuming a heteronormative identity or relationship, we now keep the interview questions open. We are aware that to provide proper support to the community, we need to gather a vast amount of knowledge and experience. That’s why, we collaborate with local organizations with more engagement and expertise with the LGBTQ+ community for vital knowledge transfer and service support.’’????
