How the team mirrors the best player’s attitude in youth basketball by?Gilbert Arenas ?? Some key points ?? 1. The star player demands the rest of the team to listen to coach simply by listening. 2. When the star play pays attention, the rest of the team has no option but to listen because they are “option 2, 3, 4, 5”. 3. The coach only is around the team every once in a while, where as the star player is amongst his peers on a close to daily basis. Every player will enter into Overseas Basketball with different circumstances. That much is obvious. But what isn’t as obvious is how those circumstances can greatly shape how a player values their: ??Market value ??Other aspects of life ??Rookie contract ??Importance of basketball Sometimes if you come from more - it’s tough to give that up. And the opposite is also true. In the end, this points to an advantage for smaller-college players. With less funding at the lower levels (D2,D3, NAIA, JUCO), smaller-college players tend to adopt a “grind mindset” since the drop-off isn’t as steep. That isn’t to say there isn’t D1 players who have got it out the mud though! ?? Announcement: Netball Super League's Evolution Towards Professionalism in 2025 ?? Today marks a pivotal moment for Netball in the UK as the Super League undergoes a significant transformation. The league is set to reduce from 10 to 8 teams for the 2025 season, a move aimed at professionalising the sport. The reorganisation includes the introduction of new teams, Birmingham Panthers and Nottingham Forest Netball, and the unfortunate departure of some beloved teams, including Severn Stars, who MAAREE have supported for the last two seasons. Key Changes: ?? The league will reduce to 8 teams to increase competitiveness and ensure higher standards both on and off the court. ?? New entrants: Birmingham Panthers and Nottingham Forest Netball. ?? Departing teams: Severn Stars, Strathclyde Sirens, Surrey Storm, and five-time champions Team Bath. ?? Significant salary increases, with average salaries rising by at least 60% and minimum salary payments more than doubling. ?? 50% of games to be played at major arenas, enhancing the match-day experience for fans. While this transformation promises an exciting future for netball, we at MAAREE extend our deepest sympathies to everyone involved with Severn Stars.
