Breast cancer remains a critical health issue, with incidence rates continuing to rise. Over the past 40 years, breast cancer cases have surged significantly, making it one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among women. Despite advancements in treatment and early detection, breast cancer still accounts for a substantial number of cancer-related deaths among women. The challenge is compounded by persistent misconceptions surrounding breast cancer, which can hinder open discussions about risk factors, preventative measures, and regular screenings. We believe supporting health equity and driving increased awareness is crucial for improving early diagnosis, access to comprehensive care, and survival rates. Big news to share from Clairity, Inc.! Earlier today, we announced a $1M investment from the The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. ? This investment from the BCRF reflects a strong level of confidence in Clairity’s early detection capabilities. By identifying subtle patterns in breast tissue that correlate with cancer development, our platform goes beyond traditional risk models based largely on age and family history. This model also helps to address the inequities in breast cancer mortality faced by women around the world. ? The BCRF is the largest private funder of breast cancer research in the world and we are honored to be a close partner for years to come. ? #breastcancer #jpmorganhealthcare ? https://lnkd.in/empCZ89f

Breast Cancer Screening: A Personal Call to Action Breast cancer awareness isn't just a topic for October—it's deeply personal for me, and it touches far too many of us. My mom is a survivor because we caught it early. My cousin is a survivor because we caught it early. My daughter's Godmother is also a survivor because we caught it early - and I can say the same for so many more. As much as I have to celebrate, I'm also saddened because I've also lost friends to breast cancer way too soon. For Black women, the statistics are staggering—our chances of being diagnosed younger, at later stages, and with more aggressive forms of breast cancer are higher than those of our counterparts. But early detection can be life-saving. Regular screenings, self-exams, and mammograms are critical in catching breast cancer early when it’s most treatable. I want to encourage everyone, especially Black women, to prioritize their health and ensure that screening for breast cancer is part of their routine. Early detection saved my mom, my best friend, and cousin and could save you or someone you love. Together, let’s spread the word for our sisters, mothers, daughters, cousins and friends. ?? #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetection #BreastCancerSurvivor #HealthEquity #ScreeningSavesLives

??? October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to the importance of early detection and support for those impacted by breast cancer. This year feels especially meaningful, as it’s the first year I’m eligible for a mammogram myself. The journey toward proactive health care starts with taking these steps. Breast cancer affects all women, but African-American women often face unique challenges. Statistics show that African-American women under 45 are at a higher risk for breast cancer compared to women of other races, and often, we’re diagnosed at later stages. This makes early detection all the more crucial. Here are a few screening and health tips specifically for African-American women: 1?? Know Your Family History: Knowledge is power. Understanding family health patterns can provide insight into your own risk factors. 2?? Talk to Your Doctor: Discuss individual risk factors and the right screening timeline for you. While general guidelines recommend starting mammograms at age 40, personal history may impact this. 3?? Practice Self-Awareness: Regularly check for any changes in your body. Self-exams are no substitute for mammograms but can be an important part of monitoring. 4?? Prioritize Health: It’s easy to put our health last, but regular screenings are essential. Early detection means a better chance of successful treatment. Let’s spread the word, encourage each other, and take proactive steps in health. Remember, every share or conversation could make a difference in someone’s life. Thank you to American Cancer Society and Genentech leadership for raising awareness during this important month for Breast Cancer. #GetScreened #ScreeningSavesLives #EveryCancerEveryLife#BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #EarlyDetection #AfricanAmericanHealth #FirstMammogram
